‘Humanity and Humanity’ by Richard Falk [Youtube Poetry]

For: My Catbird Seat
Humanity and Humanity, is the first of a series of poems written and narrated by Richard Falk

Richard Falk, author of Human Rights Horizons, The Pursuit of Justice in a Globalizing World, delivers a profound message that needs to be heard. He evokes and reminds us of the fundamental principles of humanity. In so doing, he awakens our spirit of compassion and guides us towards a kinder, gentler world.

Poetry, such as this, based upon the leveling and humbling of humanity, is not going to be popular with the Western Press in this day and age, regardless of its merit as art.

It is unfortunate, but Ezra Pound was right in his Cantico del Sole.

Israeli Nuclear Espionage: The Art of Keeping America at Risk for Fun and Profit

Israel agreed to sell South Africa nuclear weapons.

More than that, it makes any aid America gives Israel illegal. If Israel is nuclear, which is now official, and in violation of international treaties, just as with Iraq and Iran, then America has to demand inspections and disarmament. There is no choice. This is the law. Law for Iran, law for Iraq is also law for Israel. Israel has expected this day for years.

Sudanese Officials: Cyprus ‘arms ship’ allegation is”Absurd”, Contains Mining Explosives

Sudanese officials on Wednesday dismisses allegations saying that the Arab country import arms on a ship intercepted in Cyprus as an “absurd”, saying that the explosives on board were for gold mining firm.

“Sudan has been importing explosives since the early 1990s to work this gold mine, and has never had any problems in the past. It’s the first time this has happened. It’s absurd,” Abdelbaqi al-Gilani, Sudan’s minister responsible for mining said.
“The ship is carrying some explosives for civil work … for quarry face blasting and mining, it has nothing to do with the military,” al-Giliani added.

ASMARA, Eritrea -- Persons working with aid organizations assisting the victims of the Darfur conflict have passed on the news that they have confirmed through their contacts in the so called “Save Darfur Coalition” that millions of dollars raised to help the Darfur refugees have ended up in Israeli bank accounts. These accounts help fund programs that include illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.

Buy an African baby; bomb some African villages

Did anyone ask movie star Angelina Jolie how much she paid for the Ethiopian baby she adopted? Or should I say how much she “donated,” most of which ended up in the hands of the national crime syndicate known as the Government of Ethiopia.

Just about anyone can buy a baby in Ethiopia these days, you know what I mean, “adopt”? It costs about $30,000. Cash. Some reports say over 3,000 were sold . . . adopted, last year alone.

It has turned into a major cash flow for the Godfathers of the Ethiopian “government.” Do the math, 3,000 times $30,000, in one year, and another London bank account or three is going to have to be set up to be stuffed chock full of some very sick money.

Thankful on Thanksgiving

While many Americans attempt to be thankful for anything in these trying and evil times, I am truly thankful there are people like Mike, who has created this site to fight for truth and decency against the murderous, hateful, worst examples of our species.

As we remember and reflect upon the gratitude we feel for the wonder that is in our lives, and the people whose talent, love, and inspiration guides us, this is for Mike Rivero, a true American hero and a beacon for the world.

Thanks MIke.

Turkey PM: Israel war crimes worse than Sudan

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday accused Israel of committing greater crimes against Palestinians during its war in the Gaza Strip than those for which Sudanese leader Omar al-Bashir had been indicted.

Erdogan said he would rather confront Bashir, indicted for orchestrating crimes against humanity in Darfur, than discuss state killings of civilians with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Turkish prime minister also said that he did not believe that Bashir was guilty of the crimes for which he was indicted.

"I cannot discuss this with Netanyahu but I can easily discuss such issues with Omar al-Bashir. I can say to his face: What you are doing is wrong," Erdogan said.

People no longer trust Congress, the President, the courts, the media, corporations, political parties, and other institutions of society. People even doubt science and medicine.

We don't doubt science and medicine, we doubt the people exploiting it for profit.

The UN in Sudan: A Mission that Hates Success

The rate of killings in Darfur has dropped below the rate of murder in some American cities, such as Chicago....
The UN thus has every reason to celebrate these achievements. Its mission in Darfur has apparently achieved the impossible, in spite of limited resources and multiple constraints, and brought violence down dramatically. Self-congratulation was in order.

The War in Sudan

Sudan is the largest country in Africa and tenth largest country in the world by land area. It is a predominately Arab country in northeastern Africa. It could also be considered to be in the Middle East—its Red Sea coast is not far from Mecca. Sudan is bounded to the north by Egypt, to the east by the Red Sea, Eritrea, and Ethiopia, to the south by Congo, Uganda and Kenya, to the west by Chad and the Central African Republic, and to the northwest by Libya.

The Death of Rendition Victim Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi

From Libya comes news of the death of Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi, a former “ghost prisoner” of the United States, whose false confession about a connection between al-Qaeda and Saddam Hussein — extracted under torture in Egypt — was used to justify the invasion of Iraq. The news will only add to the woes of the senior Bush administration officials who conceived the program of “extraordinary rendition” and torture within days of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and then, in a netherworld of secret memoranda, sought legal justification for their actions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi was tortured into "confessing" what Bush needed to sell a war, and is now conveniently dead.

Why Arabs are Backing Sudan's Bashir

Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir, despite being indicted on March 4, 2009 on seven counts of war crimes by the International Criminal Court, was given a “hero’s welcome” by the Arab League Summit hosted by Qatar last week. The 22 nations warmly supported Al Bashir with a resolution opposing the dubious ICC arrest warrant.

Bashir called the ICC an “undemocratic institution that ... applied double standards, targeted the weak and gave a blind eye to the criminals.”

Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, also present at the summit, likewise objected to the ICC. “Why do they not order the capture of Bush? Why not order the arrest of the president of Israel?”

2nd UPDATE Sudanese Attack

Oh what a slippery slope Obama is now on. This Sudanese attack has US cooperation and Intelligence assistance written all over it IMHO. It would appear that Israel is now going to be attacking and invading any country where it deems anything suspicious, and with the approval (or assistance) of the US government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Obama is desperate for a major war on which he can blame the deteriorating economic situation.

US Targets Peacemakers While Pakistan Battles American-Taliban

Is it really necessary that we let Bush and Cheney destroy another innocent country before they pretend to leave the stage after Nov. 4? Does this Nation, which fancies itself as a great defender of freedom and democracy, intend to allow them do to our ally Pakistan what they have done to Iraq and Afghanistan? If we do not feel extreme shame for what is being done in our names there then perhaps it is true that we are something less than human, merely thinking cattle.
