'Israel needs war to exist'

A former Israeli lecturer has said the entity depends on wars for its existence, warning that the hostility only invites disaster for Tel Aviv.

It is only constant confrontations and standoffs which keep the Israeli society from falling apart, said Ilan Pappe, who used to work as a senior lecturer at the University of Haifa in northern Israel.

He also said that the current Israeli government is the result of a colonialist movement. Colonialists, who did not have a country anywhere across the world, were obliged to remain here.

National interest has gone missing in USA and Israel

Lawrence Davidson argues that the power of Zionist lobbies in the United States and real-estate ideologues in Israel mean that war and expansionism will always take precedence over the national interest in both countries.

"The explanation given here helps us to understand why [Syrian President] Bashar Asad can knock at Israel’s locked door and no one in that country will bother to open it. It also helps us understand why Obama and Clinton turned their backs on the Turkish and Brazilian efforts to negotiate a deal with Iran. Both are reacting to the power and influence of domestic special interests. Compared to these interests, the "national interest" does not stand a chance."

Report: Iran-Iraq-Syria Missile Route Revealed

Iraqi civilians report that dozens of Iranian trucks filled with missiles have recently passed through their country, former minister Mordechai Ben-Porat told Arutz Sheva's Hebrew-language news service. The trucks appear to be heading for Syria.

Ben-Porat's source witnessed 75 trucks filled with long-range missiles near his hometown in northern Iraq.

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, here we go again with Israeli desperation on the cusp of madness.

First, the article says that it is "Iraqi civilians" who have reported "...that dozens of Iranian trucks filled with missiles have recently passed through their country."

But in a breathlessly head spinning statement in the 2nd paragraph, the article goes on to say, "Ben-Porat's source witnessed 75 trucks filled with long-range missiles near his hometown in northern Iraq."

So, is it one, or several people who have allegedly seen these trucks?

If the trucks were closed, how could these people, unless they were among "Miss Cleo's psychic friends" known that these 75 trucks were filled with long-range missiles?

STARTING THE FINAL CONFRONTATION: ISRAEL’S OPTIONS.

Israel is busy creating as many options as possible which can be used as a casus belli to begin the final confrontation with Iran with the endgame being the creation of a Greater Israel and the destruction of its enemies.

Because Israel has created many enemies, it has, in turn, created many options with which it can begin the final confrontation that will lead to the destruction of all its enemies. Israel has now adopted a tactic whereby it is attempting to create an environment via the use of provocation that will unite its enemies so that when the appropriate moment to start the final confrontation arrives it can then deal with all of its enemies at once with the help of the US and some of its other Western allies.

Israel: The writing on the wall

The truth is that it is Israel -- not the Arabs -- that never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity to conclude a real peace with its neighbors. And this has been true since the outset. Claims, like that of Abba Eban's, about Arab intransigence are usually buttressed with a reference to the founding act of the creation of Israel in international law: the UN General Assembly's vote on the partition of Palestine in November 1947, at a time when the majority of UN member states were western and western-dominated countries.

Iran Arms Syria With Radar

Though officials say the transaction took place about a year ago, Israel and the U.S. haven't publicized it, a departure from years past when Israeli officials were often eager to trumpet Iranian arms transfers to Syria and Hezbollah as violations of Security Council resolutions.

Some analysts say Israel believes Iran wants to escalate tensions on Israel's northern border with Lebanon and Syria to divert attention from its nuclear program. Israel has shied away from publicizing the transfer, these people say, to avoid playing into Iran's hands by increasing domestic pressure on Israel's government to take military action.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Given Israel's pathological belligerence in the region, who can blame Syria's leadership from wanting the most sophisticated level of weaponry it can possibly get?

And by the way, please remember: any radar is a defensive, not offensive, piece of weaponry.

This article appears to come from the perspective that Syria should have no no defenses whatsoever against a preemptive Israeli military attack!

How to Win a War When Losing? Dialogue with Taliban…

By Debbie Menon

No, dialogue is NOT a solution! It is merely another, quite common, much overused, abused, and never quite successful method of attempting, or pretending to attempt, to find or describe a solution; and it is usually compromised by bad faith on the part of one, two or all parties. Furthermore, it takes the bad faith of but one participant to thoroughly compromise it, and turn it into a strategic tool for forestalling the search for a solution, perpetuating the status quo, or worse.

History has demonstrated this.

JEFF GATES: How Israel Wages War on the U.S.—By Way of Deception

The Manipulation of U.S. General Colin Powell and Pakistani Cricket Star Imran Khan

Mass media and popular culture are powerful tools of manipulation when wielded by those skilled at waging way by way of deception. When shaping the opinion of an unsuspecting public, the star power of military leaders and sports heroes is routinely appropriated.

That duplicity was on display in February 2003 when Colin Powell gave false testimony to the U.N. Security Council that helped launch the U.S.-led invasion of a Muslim nation. Similar duplicity was deployed in May 2005 when Pakistani cricket icon Imran Khan launched from Islamabad a false story that provoked outrage at the U.S. in Muslim nations.

A chief lesson to learn from President Barack Obama’s recent unwillingness to stand up to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Likud Lobby is that such timidity can get people killed.

The first of them was the terrorist attack against our military troop at the Iskenderun Naval Base. In this malicious, vicious attack six of our soldiers died, and they have become martyrs. Seven of our soldiers have been injured.

The second, at dawn in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, the heart of humanity has taken one of her heaviest wounds in history. The aid ships, from the humanitarian heart, these flowing aid ships have been hindered with guns, by violence, despotism.

"There is no truth to the suggestion that Israel is planning a military move against Syria," Netanyahu said at the Likud party meeting, adding that the rumors were likely spread by Iran and Hezbollah as an attempt to distract the international community from the bid to impose sanctions on Iran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One would like to believe that Netanyahu is actually telling the truth here; but it it is very hard to believe that some attack scenario against Syria hasn't already been wargamed out by the IDF.

Syria’s scuds, “Israel’s” security and one big smokescreen

In the self-sensationalising world of modern media, some truths are better witnessed than told. Over the past fortnight, major media outlets have converged on Syria’s alleged delivery of scud missiles to the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah. By examining how the story first came to limelight, as well as the manner in which media sources have uncritically covered the story, one can begin to notice the vastly degenerated state of today’s media and its deeply polarising effects.

No Sign Scuds Moved to Lebanon - U.S. Officials

Doubts are growing within the U.S. defence and intelligence community about allegations that long-range Scud missiles from Syria have been shipped to the Hezbollah guerrilla group in neighbouring Lebanon, U.S. officials said on Thursday.

Washington believes Syrian was moving towards transferring more sophisticated Scuds to Hezbollah, but U.S. intelligence agencies have not been able to confirm Israeli allegations that the missiles have changed hands, the officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the matter's sensitivity.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I get a sense that the Intelligence agencies realize that allowing Israel to set foreign policy will end with a war between Russia and the US; a war which clearly serves Israel's goal of domination of the Mideast if the two superpowers destroy each other, but which will be a disaster for both Russia and the US.

Report: Israel threatens to send Syria back to Stone Age

The reason behind increasing tensions in the Israel-Syria arena broke last week in a report in Kuwaiti newspaper, al-Rai, that the Syrian military trained members of Hezbollah in how to fire advanced Scud ballistic missiles.

Washington has voiced contradictory viewpoints on the Scud issue. The State Department reported that they are "very concerned" by reports of the transfer of advanced weaponry to Hezbollah. However, over the weekend, senior administration officials expressed doubt as to whether the Scuds really made their way across the Syria-Lebanon border.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If it is true that "Syrian military trained members of Hezbollah in how to fire advanced Scud ballistic missiles", it does not mean that the missile themselves have been delivered to the Hezbollah in Lebanon.

But it appears that Syria is sending the Israeli government a very clear message to Israeli; if you attempt to attack Lebanon again, you will most likely get more than you bargained for in terms of Lebanese being able to defend themselves.

Syria: Israel's Scud accusation may be pretense for attack

Peace not wanted

Israel does not want peace with Syria. Let's take off all the masks we've been hiding behind and tell the truth for a change. Let's admit that there's no formula that suits us, except the ludicrous "peace for peace." Let's admit it to ourselves, at least, that we do not want to leave the Golan Heights, no matter what. Report: Israel asks US to put return of Syria envoy on hold

Israel has approached the US Administration and asked that it put on hold plans to send an American ambassador to Damascus, the London-based Sharq al-Awsat reported Saturday.

Israel submitted the request in the wake of the warm welcome accorded to Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in his recent Damascus visit, the newspaper's reporter in Israel said, quoting sources close to the government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If the US holds up the appointment of an envoy to Syria, it will be demonstrated yet again what absolute control Israel has over US foreign policy, and this will be seen as a sign of weakness on the part of the US by the Arab world.

And what precisely did Assad And Ahmadinejad do which has Israel so worked up?!?

As reported on 25 February 2010 in:

http://www.newsdaily.com/stories/tre61o33x-us-syria-iran/

Following the breathless, almost apoplectic headline which read:

"Syria and Iran defy Clinton in show of unity"

And when you finally get down to the actual business at hand, what precisely did these Middle Eastern leaders actually do?

"President Bashar al-Assad and his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad signed a bilateral deal to remove travel visas and attended a Muslim ceremony in the Syrian capital."

Wow, encouragement of mutual travel and trade, and attending a worship service!

No wonder Israel's leadership is terrified: countries in the Middle East can actually cooperate!

This is Israel's worst nightmare: all the countries in the Middle East developing trade, peaceful relationships, and speaking with one peaceful, unified voice demanding the establishment a viable Palestinian state.

Lebanon’s next war may also be Syria’s

Media reports in recent days have painted dire scenarios for what is, supposedly, the inevitable conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. Of particular note are persistent indicators that the next round, if or when it comes, will very likely involve Syria as well.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Here is a scenario.

Israel attacks Lebanon and Syria.

Israel screams for help against the evil aggressors, then when the US sends YOUR kids to die in battle for Israel, Israel launches an attack against Iran.

Russia and China come in on Iran's side.

The US realizes it lacks the conventional forces to successfully wage a new world war and resorts to its nuclear arsenal against Russia and China.

China and Russia retaliate with their nuclear weapons.

The US, Russia, and China are blown back to the stone age.
Israel, laughing at how easy it was to trick the goyim into killing each other off, is now able to use their own nuclear arsenal to blackmail what is left of the world into submission.

Syria: No peace talks without Israeli promise to return Golan

Syrian President Bashar Assad said he would begin peace talks with Israel only after Netanyahu "guarantees the full return of land and rights," the Syrian News Service reported.

According to Assad, “Resisting the occupation is a national duty. It is our legitimate and moral obligation to support it, and it is an honor that we take pride in. Israel, ElBaradei Trade Condemnations Over Syria Investigation

Israeli Ambassador Israel Michaeli publicly chastised International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) head Muhamed ElBaradei today for what he called “political bias” in his investigation of Israeli accusations of Syrian activity. Michaeli added that if ElBaradei wanted Israeli cooperation he should “refrain from publicly lashing at Israel.”

ElBaradei angrily denied the accusation of bias, adding that international law applies to every nation and that the 2007 Israeli attack on the alleged Syrian facility was “not only making it almost impossible for us to establish the facts, but it was a clear violation of international law.”

Deputy FM: Assad just wants peace process, not peace

Deputy Foreign Minister Daniel Ayalon said Saturday that Syrian President Bashar Assad was only interested in conducting a peace process with Israel, instead of actually reaching a peace accord.

"The Syrian President fully realizes that the price of peace would be opening up to the West, which is a threat to the stability of his regime," said Ayalon during a lecture in Be'er Sheva.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Syria's alliance with Iran has been due to self-preservation, and a serious sense that the US and Israel cannot be trusted to keep their word.

And the really interesting "kicker" in the equation is the very real possibility that next month's election in Lebanon may well see Shiite Hezbollah candidates increase their influence in Lebanon's government, extending both Iran and Syria's regional sphere of influence.

If there is a sincere desire for peace in the region, both Israel - and the US - will need to offer far more carrots than sticks to Syria to begin any kind of serious rapprochement here.

United Nations Security Council Resolution 1559 was created because of an Israeli false flag. Analysts Question Timing of Syria Raid

A cross-border raid into Syria by U.S. forces in Iraq and subsequent stonewalling by U.S. officials unwilling to divulge details have led to rampant speculation among U.S. analysts about the origins and meaning of the attack.

"So the question is: Why?" wrote geo-strategic analyst and journalist Helena Cobban on her blog, wondering if the raid could have been pulled off without explicit permission from the highest levels of the President George W. Bush administration.

U.S. Damascus embassy may close mission following deadly raid

The U.S. embassy in Syria said on Wednesday that it may close to the public for fearing retaliation following a Sunday deadly raid on Syrian border by U.S. troops in Iraq.

The U.S. embassy made the warning in a statement on its Website, calling on Americans in Syria to remain alert to review their personal security.

Unforeseen events may cause the U.S. embassy in Damascus to close to the public indefinitely following the Sunday raid on eastern Syria blamed by Damascus on Washington, said the statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Closing an embassy is usually what happens before a heavy-duty military confrontation is planned to take place.

And note the us of the word "indefinitely" in terms of the length of this embassy closure.

One Last Bush Doctrine

And in so doing, he is adding one last addendum to the ever-changing Bush Doctrine, establishing yet another de facto U.S. policy on his way out the door, and leaving his successor with yet another controversial precedent to wrestle with.
