On Tuesday, The Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the Danish ambassador to Tehran, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the European Union, to protest about the EU’s decision to impose sanctions on Iran’s oil industry.

The EU formally adopted an oil embargo against Iran and agreed a freeze on the assets of the Central Bank of Iran on Monday while existing contracts will be honored until July 1.
