Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri urged people in Saudi Arabia to follow the example set by popular revolutions in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia and rise up.

I did try to warn you this would happen if you looked the other way while your neighbors got clobbered.

The New World Order: Ben Gurion’s “One True Zion” ?

What exactly is the “New World Order”?

by Kevin Barrett

There is talk in conspiracy circles about a bankster plot to reduce the world to slavery.

Unfortunately, the conspiracy theorists are right. John Perkins, in Confessions of an Economic Hit Man and subsequent books, offers convincing first-hand testimony of his exploits in service to the New World Order bankster conspiracy.

Excuse Me, But Israel Has No Right To Exist

The most important thing we can do as we hover on the horizon of One State is to shed the old language rapidly. None of it was real anyway – it was just the parlance of that particular “game.” Grow a new vocabulary of possibilities – the new state will be the dawn of humanity’s great reconciliation. Muslims, Christians and Jews living together in Palestine as they once did.

Yemen: reported US covert action 2012

Key US counter terrorism actions in Yemen
Since 2011 US counter terrorism operations in Yemen have been conducted by both the Pentagon and the Central Intelligence Agency. Attacks are aimed at Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and more recently, Ansar al-Sharia.

US activity may also consist of naval bombardments and air strikes, often in conjunction with, or in support of, the Yemen military.

As Yemen came under severe pressure during the Arab Spring and militants seized control of cities and towns in the south, the US significantly stepped up its attacks, most notably with drone strikes.

May 17 15:15

The mysterious U.S. F-15E Strike Eagle detachment in Djibouti. Are they conducting covert air strikes in Yemen?

Although their presence over there is not a secret (since it was announced about 10 years ago and you can see some by simply pointing Google Earth on Djibouti International Airport, as done in this interesting OSGEOINT analysis) what’s still unclear is what eight U.S. F-15Es are currently doing in the Horn of Africa.

They are reportedly serving in support of Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa, as an Expeditionary Squadron of the 380th Expeditionary Operations Group, based at Al Dhafra, in the United Arab Emirates, and responsible for the “war on terror” in the region, but what’s their actual mission remains a (sort-of) mystery.

Even if the American military presence across the world is usually very well advertised, the U.S. keep a low profile on the operations launched by the Air Force’s Strike Eagles from Eastern Africa.

The reason for such prudence maybe that, along with the Reaper drones, even the F-15Es are conducting air strikes in Yemen (and Somalia).

The New World Order: Ben Gurion’s “One True Zion” ?

I submit that the New World Order is a freemasonic effort to establish Zion in the Americas, and from that fortress, to dominate the world.

But who’s behind it?

Adrian Salbuchi says it’s a network of big banking families – many of whom are ethnically Jewish and prime bankrollers of the state of Israel. These banking families, led by the Rothschilds, strong-armed the British government to issue the Balfour Declaration of 1917 and laid the basis for the Zionist takeover of Palestine.

During his recent interview on Truth Jihad Radio, Salbuchi told me that the Zionists are getting ready to move their empire from Occupied Palestine to the Americas. Salbuchi confirmed earlier reports from Joe Vialls (see below) and others that the Falkand Islands region contains more than ten times the oil reserves of Saudi Arabia – and nearby Antarctica contains even more. He said the Zionists, with their financial clout and dominance of the big oil majors, have taken control of the Argentine oil industry. Additionally, according to Salbuchi, swarms of Israeli operatives have been scouting out the vast, unoccupied, fertile regions of Argentina in preparation for a possible Zionist invasion…I mean, emigration.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel: Plan to Attack Iran “Ready”

The U.S. ambassador to Israel, Daniel Shaprio, told a closed conference in Tel Aviv that the United States has completed preparations for a military strike on Iran. His comments were recorded by a reporter and aired on Israel’s Channel 2 TV on Wednesday night.

Daniel Shaprio (center) sat on the NSC as senior director for the Middle East before Obama appointed him ambassador to Israel.

“It would be preferable to resolve this diplomatically, and through the use of pressure, than to use military force,” Shapiro said. “But that does not mean that option isn’t available. Not just available, it’s ready. The necessary planning has been done to ensure that it’s ready.”
Shaprio’s comments were not intended for public consumption, the Times of Israel reports.

The Zionist scenario - now and in the future

Lawrence Davidson assesses the chances of a Zionist victory - possession of all Palestine from the Mediterranean to the Jordan River and ethnically cleansing the land of Palestinians. The Unanswered Questions About America's Escalating Fight in Yemen

The likelihood that U.S. air power will target only those (anonymous) individuals who aspire to attack the United States, while sparing Yemeni rebels, is low. Perhaps more importantly, drone strikes could ultimately unite these disparate groups behind a common banner that opposes both the Hadi regime and its partner in crime, the United States. It would be easy for the U.S. military and CIA to become a Yemeni counterinsurgency air force for the Hadi regime.

Given the marked increase in AQAP's size, scope, and influence, the steady accretion of U.S. intelligence collection and strike capabilities have failed to reduce the threat of terrorist plots from Yemen. The current eliminationist, uncompromising counterterrorism mission in Yemen is not delivering results, but it is unlikely that the Obama administration, in alliance with the Hadi regime, will change course anytime soon. In the words of President Hadi, the "hunting of terrorists is irreversible."

Webmaster's Commentary:

The reason for the US's government's attempt to stem any rebellion here is simple; Yemen is the neighbor to oil-producing giant Saudi Arabia, which is having unrest and unemployment problems of its own.

And trust me, the last thing the US government wants to see before any potential strike against Iran would be for some kind of regime change in Saudi Arabia which might take its oil off the market for Western buyers and put it in the hands of - let' say - China.

But if a peaceful Yemen is the geopolitical outcome to be achieved here, the US government is creating an enviornment which is nearly guaranteed to create the opposite outcome. What it is doing now is insuring, if Al-Hadi falls, that a virulently anti-American government will take its place.

If the US government collectively had one shred of logic here, they would be providing food and medical aid to the Yemenite people, ensuring that it actually gets to the people for whom it was intended, and not handed out as "booty" to al-Hadi's militias to sell at profit for those who can afford it.

It would be cooperating with the Yemen government to build schools and hospitals, encourage that government to be seeking development deals, keeping taxes moderate, and encouraging the kind of transparency in government which might give the Yemenite people a sense that they and their kids really had a future here.

If the only hope people believe they can embrace is the hope of radicalism and unrest, people will embrace that hope. And please remember the words of the late US President Kennedy here; "when peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution becomes inevitable."

The bill provides Israel with a blank check drawn on the US taxpayer to maintain its “qualitative military superiority” over all of its neighbors combined. It is scheduled for passage on a “suspension of the rules,” which means it will not actually be voted on and will be approved by consent of Congress.

Fighting Erupts in Lebanon: US, Israeli, and Saudi-funded terrorists destabilizing Syria now under fire

According to a 2007 New Yorker article by Seymour Hersh, "The Redirection," the US, Israel, and Saudi Arabia had been assembling a region-wide army of extremist-mercenaries to battle Hezbollah in Lebanon, destabilize and overthrow Syria, and create a united front against Iran.

The forces recruited for this effort would come from the ranks of the CIA-created "Arab foreign legion," Al Qaeda itself - extremist groups fresh back from fighting US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, including listed terror organizations like the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) from Libya.

Mass Palestinian prisoner hunger strikes continue. Freedom, dignity, and respect for their rights are at issue. Strikers want horrific Israeli prison abuses ended. More on that below.

On Saturday, thousands of Israelis rallied nationwide for social justice. They picked up where they left off last summer. Major grievances remain unaddressed. They include:

-Unaffordable housing.
-High food and energy prices.
-Low wages and eroding social benefits.
-Onerous taxes on working households.
-Lack of free education and better healthcare benefits.
-Weak labor rights.
-A disproportionate amount of construction funding for settlement development. Too little remains for affordable housing in Israel.
-The "high cost of raising children" most Israelis face.

With that in mind, the New York Times reports today that many members of Team Romney disagree with one another -- and at times, even the candidate -- about foreign policy, and occasionally, Romney's own advisors have no idea what he's trying to say.

Did JCS Chief Dempsey Just End the War on Islam?

The neocon cabal of Zionist Christians and Jews behind 9/11 have tried to disguise their war on Islam as a “war on terror.” But occasionally one of them blurts out the truth: “I always thought it was a mistake not to say what Iraq really was, that is, a war against an expanding Islam,” opined neocon think-tanker James Schall of Georgetown University.*

If General Dempsey really wants to end the war on Islam, he should go to whatever lengths are necessary to expose the truth about 9/11. To that end, he ought to consider a Constitutional Counter-Coup in which all those complicit in 9/11 and its cover-up are suddenly and without warning detained and charged by military courts rather than the neocon-owned federal judiciary.

Veterans Today: The Expected Repatriotization of the Intel Cowboys

An honest appraisal of the USG’s response to the cold war will conclude that the creation of intelligence agencies to fight World Communism was certainly justified and overall attained great success. Unfortunately almost all those fighting the cold war did not realize that it was set up from the very start by the ruling super-elite banking related families many years before, in response to their intergenerational hidden agendas and secret plans to Industrialize and Globalize the world via conjured wars, both hot and cold. Unfortunately it’s been all about money, stripping as much as possible from the sheeple, and wars and illegal narcotics trafficking are the best means to do so. The cold war mission of the intel world started out good, but became an end all unto itself as the Leo Straussian existential credo, “the end justifies the means” became the operating justification for all sorts of the criminal acts that would never otherwise have been committed or allowed unless rule of law was suspended under national security. This cloak of national security has become the standard operating procedure and is now routinely invoked as cover for criminal war profiting, illegal drug trafficking and money laundering.

Most wars appear to be related to capturing illegal drug supply lines or oil or other mineral mining. It appears that numerous older intel cowboys are now seeing the shadow govt as a criminal enterprise that is out of touch and out of control, and has been completely hijacked by foreign based offshore banking power and is now the main threat to the US Republic and the US Constitution and its Bill of Rights.

Long live 'our' Gulf bastards

Life is a golden gift from Allah if you're a certified member of the Gulf Counter-Revolution Club (GCC), also known as the Gulf Cooperation Council; Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates can torture, kill, repress and demonize their own subjects - in full confidence the "master" will let you get away with it.

Just as the Sunni al-Khalifa dynasty in power in Bahrain is vowing, publicly, to keep arresting, tear-gassing, raiding their homes, confiscating their jobs and forcing pro-democracy protesters to live in non-stop fear, Bahraini Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa is being hosted in Washington by the Barack Obama administration.

US Sending Troops to Yemen for ‘Training’

With growing fighting in the Abyan Province, the Pentagon is announcing that it intends to send troops to Yemen as part of a “training mission.”

Following repeated claims by US leaders that Yemen’s al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) is the greatest threat on the planet, the US has dramatically escalated its drone strike campaign against Yemen, pounding southern towns under the control of Ansar al-Sharia several times a week.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The replacement of former "president for life" Selah with Rabbuh Mansur Al-Hadi has done absolutely nothing to ameliorate the misery in which most Yemenites live.

Replacing one thug with another doesn't change the situation on the ground one whit.

IF the folks in the White House, Pentagon, and State Department had one shred of sense between them, they would be offering food and medical aid, and develop a methodology to insure that this aid actually gets to the people who so desperately need it, which means it would NOT be going to Al-Hadi's cronies, to sell at a profit for those few who can afford it.

They would be working with local people to build bridges and hospitals and schools, bringing a source of desperately needed income to some people.

They would be pushing Al-Hadi's government to seek development deals, keep taxes to a minimum, and offer more transparency in government, so that the people of Yemen can actually believe that life will be getting better for them in the future.

If the only hope people can cling to is the hope of radicalism and violence, then that is the hope they will embrace.

Of course, all of these efforts...would be logical, and would work to establish long-term stability and growth in Yemen.

I would like to remind all in the bowels of power that the military debacle which was Viet Nam started with the introduction of " military advisors" to a government which routinely suppressed its own people; and we all remember just how brilliantly THAT went for the US government!

As President Kennedy said, "When peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable!"

Far from creating "stability" here, what our foreign policy in Yemen is doing is creating the perfect enviornment for the eruption of a violent revolution which may well lead toward the establishment of a virulently anti-American government, bordering an oil-producing giant in the region having domestic unrest problems of its own.

An attempted US-government engineered military solution to the crisis in Yemen is the absolutely most ham-fisted, wrong-headed, and ultimately counterproductive approach which could possibly be taken.

US Resumes Arm Sales to Bahrain

While conceding that there are “a number of serious unresolved human rights issues” in the nation, the US State Department announced today that President Obama has signed off on a resumption of weapons sales to Bahrain.

Crunch Time in Syria: The UN Protocol’s Jihadist Problem

It is crunch time in Syria. Allow the jihadist battle to take flight there, and there is no telling how far and wide this fight will spread. The Annan Plan is the “only game in town,” and the Syrian Army the only military force that can take action against these militants.

We have arrived at a determining moment in the Syrian crisis. The choices are startlingly simple:

1) Cautious, incremental movement toward political reconciliation and reform spearheaded by the Syrian government and closely monitored by Kofi Annan’s UN mission, Moscow, Tehran and Beijing.

2) Dangerous escalation of violence and militarization that will increasingly include foreign jihadists and is likely spill over into the broader Middle East.

Bahrain Vows Harsher Crackdown

Bahrain vowed on Tuesday to intensify its security crackdown on anti-government protests after Sunni regime terminated negotiations on addressing the political grievances fueling the popular upheaval.

With the support for the United States, the Bahraini dictatorship, which hosts the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet, has responded to largely peaceful, pro-democracy protest movement with brutal tactics like shooting at crowds with live rounds, systematic torture and beatings, ubiquitous tear gas shot into residential areas, arbitrary arrests and show trials, clamping down on free press, and more.

Webmaster's Commentary:

US government foreign policy here may well be close to bearing some very bitter fruit.

The situation in Bahrain once again demonstrates that the US government only likes human rights and democracy when those values are "convenient" to the geopolitical outcomes the US government wants to achieve.

In Bahrain, these values are very inconvenient, indeed.

However, I would like to strongly caution those in the bowels of power in DC that there will come a breaking point for the people of Bahrain.

And what will happen then is anybody's guess.

Mideast nuclear conference in jeopardy

Hopes dimmed Monday for staging major nuclear talks later this year between Israel and its Muslim rivals, as Iran and Arab countries at a 189-nation conference piled pressure on the Jewish state, accusing it of being the greatest threat to peace in the region. Because Israel has not signed the nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, it was not present at Tuesday's debate. But the United States defended its ally, warning that singling out Israel for criticism diminished the prospect of a planned meeting between it and its Muslim neighbors to explore the prospect of establishing a Middle East free of weapons of mass destruction.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Of COURSE Israel ought to be singled out for criticism. They are the only ones that actually HAVE nuclear weapons, the only nation caught selling nuclear weapons to other countries; the very activity the NNPT is supposed to prevent! Top Ten Media Failures in the 2012 Iran War Debate

by Stephen M Walt

Foreign Policy – I did a brief interview for All Things Considered last Friday, on the topic of media handling of the current war scare over Iran. Here's a link to the story, which ran over the weekend.

The interview got me thinking about the issue of media coverage of this whole business, and I'm sorry to say that most mainstream news organizations have let us down again.

Although failures haven't been as egregious as the New York Times and Washington Post's wholesale swallowing of the Bush administration's sales pitch for war in 2002, on the whole the high-end media coverage has been disappointing.

Given the apparent certainty of a Netanyahu election victory, and if a second-term Obama won’t or can’t use the leverage he has to oblige Israel to be serious about peace, is there nothing that can be done to stop the countdown to a Zionist-made catastrophe for the region and possibly the world?

The mounting public criticism of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by past and present members of the Zionist state’s defense and intelligence establishments triggered the recall of a comment made to me by one of its former Directors of Military Intelligence. The comment was: “If we had a government consisting of only former DMI’s, we’d have had peace with the Palestinians long ago.”

Mitt Romney's Neocon War Cabinet

It’s safe to say that foreign policy was not the strong suit of this year’s contenders for the GOP presidential nomination. Rick Perry labeled the Turkish government “Islamic terrorists.” Newt Gingrich referred to Palestinians as “invented” people. Herman Cain called Uzbekistan “Ubeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan” and memorably blanked when asked what he thought of NATO’s incursion into Libya. Michele Bachmann pledged to close the US embassy in Iran, which hasn’t existed since 1980. Rick Santorum gave a major foreign policy speech at a Jelly Belly factory in California.

Yet though the candidates and their views were often hard to take seriously, their statements on foreign policy reflected a more disturbing trend in the GOP. Despite facing a war-weary public, the candidates—with the exception of Ron Paul, an antiwar libertarian, and Jon Huntsman, a moderate internationalist—positioned themselves as unapologetic war hawks.

The President’s Private War

Did you know that the United States government is using drones to kill innocent people in Pakistan? Did you know that the Pakistani government has asked President Obama to stop it and he won't? Did you know that Pakistan is a sovereign country that has nuclear weapons and is an American ally?

Last week, the Obama administration not only acknowledged the use of the drones; it also revealed that it has plans to increase the frequency and ferocity of the attacks.

Justice requires action to stop subjugation of Palestinians

These are among the hardest words I have ever written. But they are vitally important. Not only is Israel harming Palestinians, but it is harming itself -- Desmond Tutu

A quarter-century ago I barnstormed around the United States encouraging Americans, particularly students, to press for divestment from South Africa. Today, regrettably, the time has come for similar action to force an end to Israel’s long-standing occupation of Palestinian territory and refusal to extend equal rights to Palestinian citizens who suffer from some 35 discriminatory laws.

United Methodists Boycott Settlement Products

One loss and one victory will prepare the United Methodist Church to take the next step in ending United Methodist support for the occupation. Like the segregated church it was until 1964, the United Methodist church can change.

A strong majority of lay and clerical delegates to the United Methodist General Conference called this week for a boycott of Israeli companies operating in Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT).

The resolution denounces the Israeli occupation and the settlements in a sweeping indictment.

It calls for “all nations to prohibit the import of products made by companies in Israeli settlements on Palestinian land.”

Report: Bahraini police beat, torture detainees

Police in Bahrain regularly resort to beating anti-government protesters, despite officials' pledges to stop such practices, a human rights group said Sunday.

according to Human Rights Watch, beating and torture of prisoners is continuing at informal facilities and in secluded outdoor areas, where detainees have been taken for up to two hours before they're transferred to police stations.

"Bahrain's leaders need to make clear that they will investigate and punish those responsible for abuses when the cameras are off," Human Rights Watch said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Bahrain's Kin Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa, doesn't give a flying Frisbee about human rights in his country, as long as the US continues to give him money and arms with which to suppress his people.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), which is part of the US Department of Defense, has notified the Congress of a possible Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to the government of Bahrain, the German defense news website defpro.com reported on Thursday. DSCA provides financial and technical assistance, transfer of defense materials, training, and services to US allies, and promotes military-to-military contracts. Bahrain is seeking to purchase armored high mobility multi-purpose wheeled vehicles, TOW missiles and associated equipment, and training and logistical support from the US military. Reports estimate the total cost of the deal, which still needs to get congressional approval, to be over $53 million.

And to add insult to injury on this deal, demonstrating again that democracy is relevant in foreign countries only when it is convenient to the administration, the Obama administration has used the following loophole to get the deal pushed through without congressional approval.

Our congressional sources said that State is using a legal loophole to avoid formally notifying Congress and the public about the new arms sale. The administration can sell anything to anyone without formal notification if the sale is under $1 million. If the total package is over $1 million, State can treat each item as an individual sale, creating multiple sales of less than $1 million and avoiding the burden of notification, which would allow Congress to object and possibly block the deal. We're further told that State is keeping the exact items in the sale secret, but is claiming they are for Bahrain's "external defense" and therefore couldn't be used against protesters. Of course, that's the same argument that State made about the first arms package, which was undercut by videos showing the Bahraini military using Humvees to suppress civilian protesters.

If President Obama had one shred of moral decency, he wouldn't be supporting yet another tin-pot dictator, yet another one of "The US Government's favorite thugs", and would find another home base for the US Navy's 5th Fleet, which is stationed in Barhrain.

Unfortunately, however, moral decency appears to be a quality which is surgically removed before people can run for any level of national office.

Obama escalates in Yemen , again

Beyond the moral aspect, which Serious People do not comment upon, since it implies that the U.S. does not have the right to kill whomever it wants: only strategic objections are permitted, it is crystal clear that, as usual, this aggression will only worsen the very problem it is ostensibly intended to solve. A Wall Street Journal article today quotes proponents of this policy as pointing out that "[Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula] AQAP has grown stronger since one of its prominent leaders, American-born Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, was killed in a U.S. strike in September." No kidding: it's been the case for a full decade now, as the Pentagon well knows, that nothing strengthens Terrorism more than constant American aggression in that region.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am reminded that one of the classical definitions of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly, yet expecting a different outcome.

Unfortunately, this is simply a manifestation of the institutional insanity which passes for "enlightened" US foreign policy in the 21st century.

If the US government had a shred of sense, it would be providing civilian, rather than military, aid to a government which is legendary for its corruption, lack of transparency, and disdain for its people.

We would be providing food and medical aid; prodding Yemen's government to seek foreign capital for infrastructure and development, and seeing that infrastructure, such as hospitals and schools get built.

Were Yemen not the next door neighbor to oil giant Saudi Arabia, whose sclerotic House of Saud is having unrest problems of its own, which it is putting down with absolutely brutal suppression, we would not be in Yemen in the first place.

Bahrain: Euro-Billionaires Party at Grand Prix as Citizens are Beaten and Shot Outside

In the gulf states, money and power trump human life.

With over 50 civilians dead and hundreds more imprisoned, the western-backed, ruling dictatorial monarchy in Bahrain sent a clear message to world as to where its loyalties truly are. Despite all of its horrific state-sponsored violence, the client state of Washington DC and Whitehall, still enjoys ’most favored nation status’.

Like with every other Emirate and petro-dictatorship in the Arab League, the Bahrani Royal Family maintain their credibility with western powers, yet their brutal police state continues to act with impunity - in full public view.

As long as the leadership in Bahrain abide by the wishes of Washington and London, the west will turn a blind eye to any human rights atrocities.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Human rights and civil liberties are only valuable to London and DC if they are "convenient" toward achieving certain geopolitical goals; in Bahrain, they are not convenient at all to either London or DC's plans for the region.

Unfortunately, Bahrain is home to the US Navy's 5th Fleet, and this is one of the many reasons the US government ignores the Bahraini monarch's atrocities against its own people.

Obama invokes Holocaust to ratchet up war threats on Iran, Syria

The new sanctions target Syrian and Iranian intelligence agencies as well as telecommunications and Internet providers for use of information technology to monitor and repress political opposition. They have been rolled out under conditions in which the United Nations is deploying its monitors in Syria to oversee a ceasefire and as Iran prepares for a second round of negotiations next month in Baghdad with the P5+1 (the five permanent members of the Security Council plus Germany) over its nuclear program.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What does the US Federal government do when the American economy is spinning off the rails?!?

GO TO WAR.

And were I a betting woman, I would not bet that this war will wait until after November's election, but will happen before it and here is why; historically, the American people have never replaced a sitting President in a time of war.

Obama may well be banking on that, and Israel's Netanyahu won't allow such a war against Iran to wait until after the election either.

It's a damned shame that President Obama has never served in combat, or even in the military for one day of his life.

Had he served, he perhaps would be looking at other means to do Israel's bidding that begin a war which is going to kill and maim thousands of human beings, and potentially trigger a global thermonuclear conflict over an alleged Iranian weapons program which, to date, cannot be proven to exist.

Petraeus and the signature of U.S. terror

Greg Miller of the Washington Post reports on the White House debate about CIA director David Petraeus’ request for a homicidal escalation of the CIA drone war in Yemen.

It seems Petraeus and his allies in the current inter-agency debate do not want to be constrained by a list. They calculate if the U.S. slaughters a particular crowd of people at an al-Qaida funeral, they are sure to kill men plotting to attack the United States. The logic, if not the morality, is persuasive: If you kill the certainly innocent, you will also get some of the presumably guilty.

This is also the logic of terrorism, which is one reason why the defenders of “signature strikes” prefer that their names not be published in the Washington Post.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: if Petraeus is demanding more drone strikes in Yemen, it means that the US and Yemen governments are losing here.

And the reasons for this are as obvious as they are logical, if someone were actually looking in the right direction.

After the departure of Yemen's former "President for Life" Selah, the deplorable conditions under which most Yemenites live have not abated whatsoever. There is still appalling poverty; corruption and lack of transparency; food insecurity; little to no education, and no jobs to speak of, save for possibly in the military.

I know I use this quote from the late President Kennedy frequently, but that doesn't stop it from being powerfully true: "when peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable."

If the US government collectively had a shred of sense, it would be insisting that the Yemenite government use the money it gives it to provide food aid, education, and health care for Yemen's people, and creating transparent methods to validate that this has actually been accomplished. Then, work to provide an infrastructure where investors will see Yemen as a viable place to invest their capital.

Of course, all this would be...logical.

Unless the fundamental flaws in the infrastructure are corrected, it will not matter how many drone hits the US government has accomplished; things will go from bad to worse here, and the current government may well be toppled and replaced by an horrendously US-hostile government.

If that is the outcome CIA Director Petraeus wishes to see happen, I encourage him to continue in the direction of escalating the drone strikes.

Were it not that Yemen was a neighbor to oil giant Saudi Arabia, where the sclerotic House of Saud is having troubles of its own in terms of unrest, which it, also, is brutally suppressing, we would not be in Yemen at all.

And I understand that for the US government, the scariest scenario would be for some kind of revolution to occur in Saudi Arabia, just at the time that an Israeli/US strike against Iran takes Iranian oil off the market.

Apr 19 10:20

CIA ‘wants more’ drone strikes in Yemen

The CIA is seeking permission to launch more airborne drone strikes in Yemen, even when there is a risk the victims might not always be terrorists, The Washington Post reported.

The targets would be chosen based on intelligence reports indicating suspicious behavior, such as images of militants unloading explosives or gathering at al-Qaeda compounds.

If President Barack Obama’s administration gives the CIA permission for the strikes, it could represent a politically dangerous escalation of US military activity in Yemen, the Post said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation; the US Government is losing the drone war in Yemen because it is making absolutely zero attempt to cajole the current government into fixing the conditions on the ground which have lead to the unrest in the first place.

Since the departure of "President" Selah, the conditions of the Yemenite people have not become any better at all, and they are suffering from massive poverty, political corruption; a lack of infrastructure, and a lack of foreign investment which would translate into jobs.

The late President Kennedy said it best; when peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable.

The only intelligent way to put an end to this is for the US to be providing human aid, in terms of food and medical support, to begin with, and find a mechanism to insure that this aid actually gets to the people for whom it was intended; not doled out as a "prize" for any government-controlled paramilitary organizations tasked with suppression of the Yemenite people.

The only real reason we are in Yemen is to prevent this unrest from spilling into the oil giant Saudi Arabia next door, where the sclerotic House of Saud is having its own problems with political unrest due to unemployment and poverty.

Unfortunately, they are also using brutal suppression of their people to attempt to stomp on it, and refuse to fix the problems causing the unrest in the first place.

The worst case scenario for the US government would be for Saudi Arabia to be in political rebellion or revolution to the point where their oil stops flowing, right at the moment when the US and/or Israel are going to invade Iran.

The recruits are sent to the “Arifjan” base where they receive military training and learn methods of bombing and terror operations within a three month period, according to reports.

The US military then sends the trained terrorists as ringleaders to countries such as Iran, Iraq and Syria to set up terror networks inside these countries and embark on terrorist activities and carry out acts of sabotage with the support of Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

‘Human Rights Crisis’ in US Client Bahrain, Despite Reform Pledge

Shiite Bahrainis – who make up about 70 percent of the population in the Gulf monarchy ruled by Sunnis – have been protesting for democratic reforms for over a year. The regime’s response was initially bloody, killing dozens of unarmed protesters in February 2011 when security forces shot at them with live rounds.

But the Obama administration has been supportive of the regime’s stubborn repression throughout. Bahrain hosts the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet and is considered by Washington as a geopolitical asset in the strategically important Persian Gulf, also serving as a bulwark against Shiite Iran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Obama should be congratulated for having brilliantly demonstrated, yet again that democracy is only something the US embraces overseas when it is "convenient"; it is not "convenient" in Bahrain, and therefore we're propping up this tinpot monarchy with, ultimately hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars in military aid.

I have to wonder how many educational, or medical supplies, that sum might buy for desperately poor sections of our country;and I have to wonder how far that money would go to buy food for the US's desperately hungry children.

But I would strongly caution President Obama on the following, and this quote, I believe, comes from one of his more appreciated predecessors, the late John F. Kennedy: "When peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable"

So sir, if Bahrain does topple, because you and your administration have been impotent to "encourage" the reining regime to fix the fundamental problems which are causing this unrest in the first place, please don't say I didn't warn you!

Yemen militants killed in suspected U.S. drone raid

A suspected US drone strike in Yemen’s southeastern Shabwa province has killed five Al-Qaeda-affiliated militants, a local government official said on Tuesday.

The defence ministry said Saturday’s raid was conducted by Yemeni warplanes, but a security official told AFP that a US drone was responsible for the attack.

The United States has never formally acknowledged the use of drones against Al-Qaeda in Yemen, considered by Washington to be the most active and deadly branch of the global terror network and a major focus of its “war on terror.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Every single time one of these raids happens,it is a recruiting call to those who would wish Americans harm in the region.

The developers of US foreign policy seem pathologically incapable of getting it right in Yemen.

The departure of former President Saleh has done nothing to ameliorate the terrible conditions in which most of the Yemenite people live, which include desperate poverty, horrendous corruption, and zero transparency in government.

Instead of placing so much emphasis on military aid here, the US should be using its foreign aid both as a carrot and a stick, making sure that food aid, education, medical care, and infrastructure investment become the first priority of the government of Yemen, and that people have hope for a better life.

Fear and suppression can only work for so long before people get tired of living with it, and massively rebel against the leadership, and the conditions, which are sapping away their strength. The late President Kennedy said it best; when peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable.

The US government is in Yemen, primarily to contain any possible unrest from seeping into Saudi Arabia, its huge oil-producing neighbor.

But unfortunately, the sclerotic House of Saud is having its own domestic problems with unrest which it, as well, is attempting to put down with massive military suppression, rather than trying to fix the systemic problems responsible for the unrest in the first place.

Yemen: More clashes as CIA and US special forces join in secret war

A mainly covert U.S. role in Yemen relies to a considerable extent on drones which are flown from a base in nearby Djibouti on the horn of Africa. There is also a secret base thought to be in Saudi Arabia. However, there are also special forces on the ground.

Yemeni officials also reported that the capital of Abyan province, Zinjibar was hit by missile fire from the Gulf of Aden. The Yemeni government does not have the capability to mount such an attack so no doubt it was mounted from U.S. warships. Zinjibar is occupied by the militant group Ansar al Sharia.

Hadi has so far thrown his lot in with the U.S. in making a priority attacks upon Al Qaeda and other militant groups such as Ansar al Sharia. Saleh alternated attacks with deals with the militants.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Kennedy said it best: when peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable.

Yemen may well have a new president; however, nothing, really, has changed in terms of the "misery index" of the Yemenite people. Poverty, corruption, and hardship hasn't been abated one single bit since the transition.

And therein lies the problem.

I can understand that the US government doesn't want the unrest here to spill over into Saudi Arabia, where a sclerotic House of Saud is barely holding on to power only through its own brand of brutal repression.

But the US government is going about suppressing unrest in Yemen in what appears to be an absolutely, hamfistedly wrong way.

In order to prevent, or at least ameliorate unrest which leads to violence and bloodshed, you have to start fixing the situations which lead to the unrest in the first place.

Enlightened US foreign policy here would insist that food aid, medical aid, education, and infrastructure be top priorities for the government, with transparency guarantees that the aid actually wound up going for the good of the people of Yemen.

The US cannot possibly be seen as the "good guy", when it is supporting another corrupt tinpot dictator with no social or moral conscience in terms of truly taking care of his or her people.

And unfortunately, that is all too often the case with US foreign policy, all over the world.

And in the case of Yemen, should President Hadi's government fall, the US will be looking at a profoundly anti-US government in Yemen, right on the border of Saudi Arabia.

South Yemen Fighting Spreads: 177 Killed So Far

The ongoing fighting between the Yemeni government and a militant faction (either Ansar al-Sharia or al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) depending on the news source) continues to escalate today in the strategic town of Lawder, with locals reporting that the overall death toll of the last four days of fighting is now 177.

The fighting hasn’t just spread inside Lawder either, with reports that the nearby town of Mudia is also seeing fighting as militants clash with locals. The US has also become involved, attacking a stolen army vehicle with a drone and killing 12 “suspects.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

the late President Kennedy said it best, and most succinctly: when peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable.

Unless the US reassesses what aid, and what aid other then military, they are going to give to the Yemen government, and uses a carrot-stick approach to enforce the aid actually reaching the people of Yemen, it may well find itself with the current, hideously corrupt and disfunctional government toppled, and a very intensely anti-US government in its place.

The US government wouldn't even be in Yemen right now, were it not for it's proximity to Saudi Arabia, and the fear that the sclerotic House of Saud may well be toppled by unrest there, taking Saudi oil off the market when it may well be most critically needed, if there is a coming military attack against Iran.

Qaeda battles to create safe haven in Yemen

Al-Qaeda, still smarting from the loss of its iconic leader Osama bin Laden, appears determined to capture the south Yemeni town of Loder in a bid to build itself a secure base in the Arabian Peninsula.

Its location between three provinces gives Loder strategic importance, and it can also provide a safe haven from bombardment from the sea, experts say, adding that the militant group is seeking to extend its influence across the region.

Despite the loss of an estimated 152 men in four days of fighting in and around Loder in Abyan province, Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) is still engaging Yemeni soldiers and local tribesmen in fierce firefights.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but I am rather curious: who the heck is this Mustafa Ani, and why is it impossible to find bio or contact info on him online? I am no slouch with a search engine, but I certainly couldn't find him, other than where he is mentioned in this article.

Is he perhaps imaginary or invented in order to give an air of "gravitas" to this article?

And let's take a longer view of the situation in Yemen, shall we?

The not-terribly-voluntary self-exile of former President Selah has done nothing to ameliorate the horrendous conditions in Yemen, in terms of poverty, political corruption, lack of education, lack of investment capital, and the lack of transparency in government.

And the late President Kennedy said it best: when peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable.

In the Middle East, is certainly easy enough to label any group with extreme upset and grievances against a government which has chosen the path of violence against that government as "Al Queada" (which means, literally, "the base", in Arabic, but colloquially, means "the toilet"), but is this a true characterization?

I am not certain about that.

But there is one thing of which I am certain, and that the US support of the current government, even to the point of massive drone bombing raids against the rebels here, is not going to resolve these consistent problems on the ground. And what we may have, ultimately, if the current Yemen government is toppled by these rebels, is a new government which is virulently anti-American.

I understand that the US government is pulling out all the stops to prevent such an outcome, but is truly going about attempting to reach this goal in a spectacularly ham-fisted, thoroughly irrational manner.

The only reason the US is here is Yemen's proximity to Saudi Arabia, where any waves of unrest could well cripple oil production here, toppling the House of Saud, and perhaps taking Saudi oil off the market, just when it is most critically needed, if and when Israel and the US government decide to attack Iran.

What US foreign policy should be doing here is to stringently "encourage" the current Yemen government, with a carrot and stick approach, to make sure that all US aid goes precisely where it is supposed to go, in terms of medical and food supplies, and hold the government accountable for the welfare of its people.

Of course, THAT would be logical.

It is very common these days to hear supporters of Israel seek to justify ethnic cleansing by saying that You did it-- you Americans. Amira Hass has a fabulous piece up at Haaretz that takes on this model head on. And she explains why this is not possible, and why we are now in the endgame of "the Jewish regime" because Israel did not want a two-state solution.

Jordanians Face Military Tribunal, 10 Years in Prison for Speech

The activists, who have no chance for a civilian trial, were part of a larger group of 40 protesters detained on Saturday. Twenty-eight of them were released and claimed that Jordanian security forces beat them severely and subjected them to torture while in custody.

“Some of us were stripped naked and beaten in front of other detainees,” said one activist, who declined to use his real name due to security concerns.

The dictatorship ruling Jordan is a strong ally of the United States. Since Obama took office, Jordan has received over $2.4 billion in U.S. economic and security aid and is set to receive another $675 million in 2012.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Proving, yet again, that "democracy" is only useful to the US when it is "convenient"; when it is inconvenient in places like Jordan and Bahrain, where it is unceremoniously thrown under the bus by US leaders, because democracy is consistently trumped by regional projection of US power.

Drone strikes in Yemen soar as U.S. stokes ‘secret war’

America has dramatically stepped up its “secret war” in Yemen with the U.S. ordering dozens of drone attacks on al-Qaida hotspots, which have also killed scores of civilians.

Research by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism at London’s City University has found that as many as 516 people have been killed in the Yemen attacks – mostly suspected members of al-Qaida’s local ally al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP). As many as 104 were civilians.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to President Obama: I do believe that you do hold at least some modicum of regard for the late President John F. Kennedy.

Therefore, there is something very profound he said that you, the State Department, and Pentagon need to remember right the hell now within the context of unrest in Yemen, and that is the following: if peaceful revolution becomes impossible, violent revolution becomes inevitable.

The removal of Selah as president of this country has done nothing to ameliorate the poverty and corruption; the lack of governmental transparency; and the lack of any real health and educational opportunities here.

Yemen's current President, one Abd Rabbuh Mansur Al-Hadi, who took office last month, was voted in in an uncontested election.

But civil war remains a very real risk in a country facing an emboldened offshoot of al Qaeda, an economic crisis that has brought it to the brink of famine, a rebellion in the north and a southern secessionist movement that attacked a vehicle carrying ballot boxes on Sunday. "If the new government fails to fulfil its obligations to reach out and re-integrate the southerners, the Houthis (northerners) and the youth ... then conflict will be inevitable," political analyst Abdulghani al-Iryani said. Yet most Yemenis see Hadi as a caretaker rather than a seasoned leader. If he is unable to keep warring interests within the military from getting out of hand, many fear Yemen will be torn apart by those hoping to exploit a power vacuum.

I would strongly advise those in the bowels of power in DC that suppression can only last for so long, before people get tired of living in fear; and when people get tired of living in fear, all bets are off.

Perhaps the higher and more efficient use of the US government's aid would be dedicating their efforts toward encouraging Yemen's government to very concretely addressing the real concerns of its citizens which has lead to unrest in the first place.

OF course, THAT would be logical.

But most disturbingly, the only real reason the US government is in Yemen at all is its proximity to Saudi Arabia, where there have been murmurings of unrest as well against a rather slcerotic monarchy, presiding over a country which just happens to sit on a great deal of oil.

And of course, rather than indulge in any meaningful dialogue with those Saudi citizens who might have a different vision of how the oil-rich country could be taking better care of its people, the House of Saud has chosen to suppress any demonstrations with absolute brute force.

It is obvious that the scenario those in the bowels of power in DC fear most is an overthrow of the Saudi government by more non-western-centric elements.

Unfortunately, as in the situation in Yeman, the Obama government is doing just the opposite of what it should be doing to help create lasting stability, which is encouraging a national dialogue, and encouraging both governments to be taking concrete steps to take care of their people.

Saudi Arabia: House of Saud, Falling House of Cards

The irony is rich indeed. For the past year, the Saudi rulers have done their utmost to crush the slightest dissent in their country, while at the same time they have backed Western interference, aggression and regime change in Libya and Syria – under the guise, wait for it, of advocating democratic freedom and human rights.

Despite Saudi Arabia’s vast oil wealth and official GDP per capita, unemployment and poverty are rampant. As with the other Gulf Arab countries, Saudi Arabia’s rulers rely on a slave labour economy recruited from South Asia and Africa. This means that many young Saudis have to endure a life of unemployment.

Webmaster's Commentary:

But what happens if the collapse of the House of Saud happens right before the US and Israel are about to attack Iran?!?

That's a scenario no one in the bowels of power in DC or Tel Aviv want to even consider.

But given the fragile state of things within Saudi Arabia, they had darned well better.

US to Restart Military Aid to Yemen

The U.S. is planning to restart programs for military aid and training to Yemen, reviving its support for dictatorship after a protest movement drove out the former client, President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

The Pentagon is considering as much as $75 million in military assistance to be sent to Yemen in 2012, pending authorization from Congress. This would be in addition to the $120 million in economic aid planned for this year. The U.S. has given more than $326 million in security and civilian assistance to Yemen since 2007.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to the Pentagon, State Department, White House and Congress: when peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable, as the late President Kennedy said.

By replacing one American puppet with another, the US government has not done one bit about changing the fundamental problems in the country which have led to chronic unrest in the first place. The duel ugly realities in Yemen of intense poverty and massive corruption go unabated.

I frankly don't think that, were this country not bordering on Saudi Arabia, an oil-producing titan in the region, which is dealing with social unrest issues of its own, that the US government wouldn't even be considering this aid at all.

But if there are no fundamental changes for the people of Yemen, look for another massive revolution, one that the US cannot suppress, and the election of a non US-centric government.

And I can almost bet you that those in the bowels of power will scream loudly about how they never saw it coming.

Obama Plans More Middle East Wars

Cheerled by America's major media scoundrels, war looks increasingly likely. Syria and Iran both are targeted.

It's hard imagining the mindset of hawkish policy makers. Grave consequences aren't considered, let alone waging permanent wars against nonbelligerent countries threatening no one.

Yet Obama's fulfilling Dick Cheney's promise about wars not ending in our lifetime. Former CIA Director James Woolsey said America's "engaged in World War IV, and it could continue for years....This fourth world war, I think, will last considerably longer than either World Wars I or II did for us."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Obama wants to have it both ways; he desperately wants more wars, and as soon as possible, to attempt to distract Americans from the dire economic circumstances in which so many find themselves through no fault of their own, but publicly appear distanced, and reluctant to engage in these wars.

No thinking person is being fooled by this approach.

Over 140 Killed, Mostly Soldiers, as Fighting Continues in South Yemen

Violence is continuing to soar in the Abyan Province of southern Yemen today, with the two day toll of a battle over a Yemeni government military base now over 140 dead, with at least 110 of them soldiers loyal to new Yemeni ruler Major General Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

The fighting began yesterday when forces initially termed by the military as “al-Qaeda” but now revealed to have been from the Ansar al-Sharia faction attacked a military base outside of provincial capital Zinjibar.

Pentagon Confirms: US Troops in South Yemeni City of Aden

Pentagon officials today confirmed that a “security team” of US forces came under attack from Ansar al-Sharia loyalists in the southern Yemeni city of Aden, but denied any injuries as a result of the attack. Ansar al-Sharia claimed one “CIA officer” killed in the exchange.

The difference in versions from the two sides actually misses the much more serious revelation of the report, that US ground troops are operating inside Yemen at all. There has certainly been no announcement to that effect, and indeed, several times the Obama Administration has “ruled out” sending ground troops to Yemen.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Even with the dictator Saleh gone, things haven't changed for the better for the people of Yemen, and that is the real problem here.

As always, when peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable. The answers are social and economic here, not military; but of course, the US government is, as usual, covering their collective eyes and ears, and pretending they don't realize or understand this.

The Obama administration is embarking on an ambitious and potentially risky plan to help the new government in Yemen overhaul its military to combat the Qaeda franchise that has exploited the political turmoil there to seize control of large swaths of the country’s south. The plan’s two-pronged strategy calls for the United States and Yemen to work together to kill or capture about two dozen of Al Qaeda’s most dangerous operatives, who are focused on attacking America and its interests. At the same time, the administration will work with Saudi Arabia and other Persian Gulf allies to train and equip Yemeni security forces to counter the organization’s wider threat to destabilize the country and the government of its newly installed president, Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

Let's face it: the only "..American interests" in this area right now are actions preventing the destabilization of Saudi Arabia at this critical time, when it appears that there will be a military attack against Iran, which will take Iranian oil off the market, and make Saudi Arabia's oil output more critical.

24 Signs That We Are Getting Dangerously Close To A Major War In The Middle East

If a major war does erupt, it could send the price of oil skyrocketing and there is the potential that the war could broaden very quickly. Hezbollah has already indicated that it will side with Syria, and there is always the potential that Hamas could as well. Russia and China have both stated that they are completely opposed to military action by the United States against Iran and Syria, and they have even hinted that they would possibly even help defend those countries. As the nations of the world take sides, there is even the potential that we could see World War III develop. Let us hope that it never comes to that, but with the world as unstable as it is right now, you never know what may happen.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Were it not for intransigent Israeli belligerence in the region, this would not be happening.

Just as happened with the invasion and occupation of Iraq, the US is now being pushed toward a war of aggression against Iran, a country which has not initiated a war in over 200 years, and definitely not since becoming an Islamic Republic in 1979.

Israel now defines Iran's civilian nuclear energy program as its new "existential threat" in the region, and it does this with the collective hubris of having nuclear arms, but refusing to sign the NNPT, and allow their nuclear sites to be inspected. Iran, on the other hand, has signed the NNPT, has its nuclear sites inspected, and to date, absolutely no nuclear material is unaccounted for.

Should nuclear-armed Russia and China enter the fray on the side of Iran, we are looking not looking at a regional conflict, but a global conflict.

And I would strongly caution those in the bowels of power in Tel Aviv and DC who think such a war would be a great idea: please be careful what you wish for.

Massive US Military Buildup on Two Strategic Islands: Socotra and Masirah

While quietly casting lines to draw Tehran into talks on their nuclear dispute, PresidentBarack Obama is reported exclusively by DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s military and Washington sources to have secretly ordered US air, naval and marine forces to build up heavy concentrations on two strategic islands – Socotra, which is part of a Yemeni archipelago in the Indian Ocean, and the Omani island of Masirah at the southern exit of the Strait of Hormuz.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Debka is less than reliable about these things, but if it turns out to be true, the implications are alarming. Neither Socotra or Masirah are positioned to seriously affect the invasion of Iran, especially Socotra. Neither island has existing facilities useful for military purposes. Even the airport runways are for light aircraft only, so this is a total garrisoning from the ground up and a very expensive operation.

If this turns out to be true, it means the US is getting ready to seize control of both the Straight of Hormuz and the Gulf of Aden, to hold the rest of the world hostage with a threat to cut off the flow of all Mideast oil unless the rest of the world goes along with the US agenda, which is really the Israeli agenda. This may be an act of desperation to block of Iran's oil in the face of a world unwilling to go along with further USreal provocations.

Bahrain Security Forces Crush Protests After Funeral of Slain Teenager

Bahraini riot police attacked anti-government protesters with teargas on Monday after the funeral of a teenager killed by police last week, as violence in the Gulf state increases in the run-up to the anniversary of the uprising.

The Bahraini government is a long-time U.S. ally receiving continued economic and military support from the Obama administration, despite an extended reign of repression in response to pro-democracy demonstrations. A recent independent probe into the government’s response concluded also that torture was systemic for hundreds of detained Bahrainis.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF President Obama had ANY "male attributes", he would find another home for the US 5th Fleet, and right the heck now.

Every time this government gives money or sells arms to repressive governments, it makes an absolute mockery of those values it alleges it supports both nationally, and internationally.

Of course, the world knows better: the US government supports democracy, human dignity, and human rights only when it is geopolitically convenient to do so. When it looks as though it will be inconvenient to do so, all bets are off.

But I would strongly caution President Obama regarding his current "stay the course" policy with the Bahraini monarchy.

There is a past President for whom I would imagine Obama might have at least some small modicum of respect, and that would be the late President John Kennedy.

And President Kennedy said something very cogent, regarding the poor and dispossessed which President Obama needs to remember, and that is, "When peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable."

Obama administration using loophole to quietly sell arms package to Bahrain

President Barack Obama's administration has been delaying its planned $53 million arms sale to Bahrain due to human rights concerns and congressional opposition, but this week administration officials told several congressional offices that they will move forward with a new and different package of arms sales -- without any formal notification to the public.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to President Barak Obama: this arms deal demonstrates (as if that reality needed any demonstration)is that for the United States Government, democracy and human rights are only acceptable when they are convenient for the US government, and when they are not, they can simply be thrown under the proverbial bus.

The largely Shiite population of Bahrain is consistently oppressed, to the point of military attacks against civilians and torture, by a nastily autocratic, tin-eared and blind Sunni hereditary monarchy which hasn't quite gotten the memo that they are living in the 21st century.

Yes, I do understand that Bahrain is home to the US's 5th fleet; but holy Hieronymous Bosch, is there not someplace else, some other country, which would be happy to accept their presence which is not an autocratic, poverty and corruption-ridden dictatorial monarchy, with absolutely no concern for the welfare of their people?!?!?

Do you have any idea of how embarrassing this is for the US's image, particularly in countries where the notion peaceful, democratic self-determination is just beginning to bloom?!?

And the only logical conclusion to that question has to be, you don't give a damn how this looks to the world, because you are simply doing what your predecessors have done forever; just propping up yet another tinpot dictator because it would be "inconvenient" not to.

King Hamad bin Isa Khalifa is just another in an endless string of tyrants the US government has supported over the years.

And when, ultimately, such tyrants are overthrown, the Presidents, Pentagon and State department officials and Congressional members collectively roll their eyes, as though they absolutely couldn't see it coming.

But Mr. President, I would strongly caution you on this practice by quoting a man for whom I believe you had at least some respect for, the late President John Kennedy who once remarked, "When peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable."

The West Blinks - Iran Embargo Likely To Be Delayed By Six Months

EU IRAN OIL EMBARGO SAID TO BE LIKELY DELAYED BY SIX MONTHS

Why? Because the world slowly realized that the potential surge in oil prices would tip a world already on the verge of a recession even deeper into economic contraction. Not rocket science, but certainly something the US president apparently has been unable to comprehend, especially if hoping that he would merely transfer exports from Iran to his close ally Saudi Arabia which would cement its European market monopoly even further. Or, perhaps, someone just explained to Obama that Embargo in January + QE3 in March = No Reelection...

Webmaster's Commentary:

Europe and Japan just yanked the legs out from the plan to provoke Iran with oil sanctions. The US Government will likely not raise on this busted flush because Ron Paul's success in the primaries, despite the concerted efforts of the corporate media, the GOP, and Israel, has sent a clear and unambiguous message to the status quo that starting yet another war for Israel is going to cost incumbents their jobs come November.

In short, unless Israel starts to act like Nazis Israelis and blow something up and claim Iran did it, we just stepped back from the edge of total global war.

Hopefully, Israel's government will realize that a false-flag attack, either bombing something in the US or attacking a ship in the gulf, will be presumed an Israeli false-flag. After all, with the sanctions DOA, Iran has no reason to shut down the Straights of Hormuz, which leaves the US with no reason to attack Iranian assets, which means Iran has no reason to attack a US ship. That makes it very hard for Israel to sell a new false-flag attack.

Yemen Opposition Slams US Ambassador’s Statement Encouraging Crackdown

Tensions are soaring once again in Yemen today, following attacks on civilian protesters by regime forces Saturday which killed at least nine. Opposition figures are pointing the finger squarely at US Ambassador Gerald Feierstein, whose comments they see as encouragement for the bloody crackdown.

Feierstein seemed to indicate that the subsequent violent crackdown was in keeping with US policy toward its own protesters, saying that “if 2,000 people decided to protest against the White House in the US, we do not consider it a peaceful act and will not allow this.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Apparently, for US Ambassador Gerald Feierstein, who obviously thought that no one in the US would be paying attention to his remarks during the Christmas holiday, the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States no longer exists for us peons. Wrong, sir: and we are outraged that you should have made such a statement.

Yemen Protests: Troops In Country's Capital Open Fire On Protesters With Guns, Tear Gas, Water Cannons

The violence underlined the continuing turmoil in Yemen even after Saleh signed a U.S.- and Saudi-backed deal last month by which he handed his powers to his vice president and committed to step down completely in return for immunity.

Protesters who rallied by the thousands for the past 10 months rejected the deal, demanding Saleh be tried for his bloody crackdown on their movement.

At the same time, Saleh has seemed to continue to exercise influence through his relatives and loyalists still in their positions, even after Vice President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi formed a unity government between the opposition and ruling party. Forces loyal to Saleh have defied orders to withdrew from the streets of Sanaa after a deadline was reached Saturday to do so.

Newt’s claim, made during the “Lincoln Douglas style” debate with Jon Huntsman, was meant to argue that simply bombing Iran isn’t enough. ISIS president David Albright says he has no clue where Newt got the idea, and that it “sounds like he is just repeating rumors.”

Rick Perry Supports Israeli Attack On Iran, Even If It Sparks Regional War

Appearing on CNN last night, Texas governor and GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry expressed his religiously-inspired support for Israel to an extent few politicians or other presidential candidates have: unwavering support for Israel should it decide to start a war with Iran, even if that meant a region wide conflict.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. Perry, are you willing to demonstrate your commitment to the necessity to invade Iran by personally leading the first assault into the country?

U.S. love for Israel comes with a price

Finally, one cannot ignore the possibility that derogatory anti-Palestinian statements, of which Gingrich provided a good example, could inflame an already stormy Arab world and, by extension, strengthen Iran's regional standing. But of course, this won't upset those who are waiting with bated breath for the war between Gog and Magog and the Apocalypse. It's only a problem for those who still cling to the anachronistic concept that managing a country's foreign relations requires wisdom, prudence and good judgment.

Lowe’s, Bank Of America, And Others Pull Ads From Muslim Reality TV Show After Pressure

The TLC reality TV show All-American Muslim chronicles the lives of a group of Muslims in Dearborn, Michigan. The show has been well-received for its fair and realistic portrayal of the Muslim American experience in the United States. Watch a trailer for the show here.

But a reality TV show that lets Americans relate to the lives of Muslims in the United States is an offensive idea to those who want to demonize Islam. The Florida Family Association (FFA) launched a campaign earlier this year to get companies to pull their advertising from the program. FFA claims that 65 of the 67 companies targeted have done this, including home improvement giant Lowe’s and megabank Bank of America:

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Israel says you are not allowed to see Muslims in a positive light and by golly that is JUST THE WAY IT'S GONNA HAVE TO BE!!!!!"" -- ABCNNBBCBSFOX

You would think that hovering on the edge of insolvency like they are at present, at least BofA would have a more mellow attitude! But I will never set foot in a Lowe's again. As for BofA, we quit them a long time ago and only deal with small local banks.

NATO Opening Gulf Center in Kuwait

Kuwait and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) are discussing plans to open a joint center in Kuwait City, a NATO official revealed to AFP on Monday.

The center – which would be the first of its kind in the Gulf – would help bolster relations and cooperation between Kuwait and NATO under the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI).

The initiative was launched at a NATO summit in Turkey in June 2004 in order to provide Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries bilateral security cooperation with NATO.

Kuwait joined the ICI in December 2004, followed by Bahrain and Qatar in February 2005 and the UAE in June 2005.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to the Kuwaiti government; no matter how sweet the deal NATO may be making, please think about this very seriously.

NATO will turn your country into a staging area for more and more military misadventures, like Libya; and we all know how that is working for ordinary Libyan citizens these days!!

GILAD ATZMON: DESPERATE DERSHOWITZ

Dershowitz is desperate. In a recent TV appearance, in a mere seven minutes the notorious Zionist mouthpiece, manages to exhibit just about every single ugly Hasbara symptom.

And what is Dershowitz so desperate about? Dershowitz, is desperate to stop ‘The Wandering Who’. Why? Because ‘The Wandering Who’ is probably the only contemporary text that offers a complete and comprehensive reading into, not only Jewish Identity politics in general but also into Dershowitz’ own particular psychosis and duplicitous behaviour.

WRH and Anti-Semitism

The charge of anti-Semitism is one that Israel flings at anyone who criticizes them. Israel intentionally blends itself with the world's Jewish people in order to be able to hide behind Jewish people. If you ask Israel any question they do not like, you will be called anti-Semitic. It's a real fraud and the irony is that Israel is setting up the world's Jewish people as targets by acting as if they share the responsibility for Israel's actions.

THE LAVON AFFAIR

In 1954, Israeli agents working in Egypt planted bombs in several buildings, including a United States diplomatic facility, and left evidence behind implicating Arabs as the culprits. The ruse would have worked, had not one of the bombs detonated prematurely, allowing the Egyptians to capture and identify one of the bombers, which in turn led to the round up of an Israeli spy ring.

Some of the spies were from Israel, while others were recruited from the local Jewish population. Israel responded to the scandal with claims in the media that there was no spy ring, that it was all a hoax perpetrated by "anti-Semites".

Did Israel deliberately allow 241 American Marines to die?

Yes, says Victor Ostrovsky, a former Israeli secret agent. In his book, By Way of Deception: (Published 1990) A Devastating Insider's Portrait of the Mossad, Mr. Ostrovsky says the Israelis had advance notice of the suicide attack that killed 241 Marines in Beirut in October 1983 but withheld the information from the United States in the hope that the attack would poison American Arab relations.

The Seven Step Mainstream Media Country Destruction Guide

1. First, they start by targeting a country ripe for “Regime Change”, and brand it a “rogue state”; then...

2. They arm, train, finance local terrorist groups through CIA, MI6, Mossad, Al-Qaeda (a CIA operation), drug cartels (often CIA operations) and call them “freedom fighters”; then...

3. As mock UN Security Council Resolutions are staged that rain death and destruction upon millions of civilians, they call it “UN sanctions to protect civilians”; then...

4. They spread flagrant lies through their “newsrooms” and paid journalists, and call it "the international community’s concerns expressed by prestigious spokespeople and analysts…” then…

That rocky road to Damascus

The trillion-dollar question in the "Arab Winter" is who will blink first in the West's screenplay of slouching towards Tehran via Damascus.

As they examine the regional chessboard and the formidable array of forces aligned against them, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the military dictatorship of the mullahtariat in Tehran must face, simultaneously, superpower Washington, bomb-happy North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) members, nuclear power Israel, all Sunni Arab absolute monarchies, and even Sunni-majority, secular Turkey.

Meanwhile, on their side, the Islamic Republic can only count on Moscow. Not as bad a hand as it may seem.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Indeed, the trillion-dollar question these days is, what will Russia do, if either Syria or Iran are attacked by NATO, the US, and/or Israel, or any combination thereof?

I would like to remind those in the bowels of power in DC that Russia is a nuclear-armed country.

I do not believe for one moment that Russia will allow any military attack against either Iran or Syria to go unanswered. The response may be asymetric, but there will be a response.

ZIONISTS WON'T LET YOU SEE THIS ON YOUR TV

Ask yourself: Why aren't Americans shown these honest facts on any of the over 1,700 major media outlets?

and WHAT OTHER INFO IS BEING WITHELD?

Rachel Corrie: 'a true hero' was killed by the state of Israel, and by its brutal regime that practises not only 'mass punishment' but also 'ethnic cleansing'. The same regime that has displaced over 4 million Palestinians, and killed many thousands. The same regime that has denied the right to self-determination to the Palestinian people.

A regime that systematically destroys the lives of innocents every single DAY.
