Saudi Arabia next US overthrow target!

Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri urged people in Saudi Arabia to follow the example set by popular revolutions in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia and rise up.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Dear Saudi Arabia

I did try to warn you this would happen if you looked the other way while your neighbors got clobbered.

What exactly is the “New World Order”?

by Kevin Barrett

There is talk in conspiracy circles about a bankster plot to reduce the world to slavery.

Unfortunately, the conspiracy theorists are right. John Perkins, in Confessions of an Economic Hit Man and subsequent books, offers convincing first-hand testimony of his exploits in service to the New World Order bankster conspiracy.

House GOP Defense Bill Calls For Billions More In Defense Spending Than Obama Plan

The House endorsed the continued war in Afghanistan on Thursday despite acknowledgment from Republicans and Democrats that the American people are war-weary after more than a decade of conflict.
By a vote of 303-113, lawmakers rejected an amendment that would have swiftly ended combat operations in Afghanistan by limiting funds only to the "safe and orderly withdrawal of U.S. troops and military contractors from Afghanistan."

More than 10 years after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, American public support for the overseas conflict has deteriorated. An Associated Press-GfK poll released last week showed that backing for the war has hit a new low and is on par with support for the Vietnam War in the early 1970s. Only 27 percent of Americans say they support the war effort, and 66 percent oppose it, according to the survey.

THE LIE OF THE CENTURY

In the end, the real proof that we were lied to about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction is that no weapons of mass destruction were ever found. That means that every single piece of paper that purported to prove that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction was by default a fraud, a hoax, and a lie. There could be no evidence that supported the claim that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction because Iraq did not have weapons of mass destruction. In a way, the existence of any faked documents about Iraq's WMDs is actually an admission of guilt. If one is taking the time to create fake documents, the implication is that the faker is already aware that there are no genuine documents.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, the media is cranking up the war propaganda against Iran, and once again, totally unsupported claims about nuclear weapons are the excuse. So, while we wait for the huge explosion that will kick things off, it is worth remembering that the governments of the US and Israel have a track record of total bull shit to sell their wars to us.

Iraq Vets Returning Medals at NATO Summit in Chicago

A protest of Iraq war veterans at the NATO summit being held in Chicago this weekend is intended to send a strong message to Washington and the European alliance.

Some members of the Iraq Veterans Against the War plan to return their medals to NATO generals on Sunday, claiming they were given their honors for bravery or suffering for "a war based on lies and failed policies."

Webmaster's Commentary:

These Vets are very brave people, ready to confront the very machine which has caused so much destruction and despair in this world.

THE JEWS OF IRAQ by Naeim Giladi

I write this article
for the same reason I wrote my book:
to tell the American people,
and especially American Jews,
that Jews from Islamic lands did not emigrate
willingly to Israel; that, to force them to leave,
Jews killed Jews; and that,
to buy time to confiscate ever more Arab lands,
Jews on numerous occasions
rejected genuine peace initiatives
from their Arab neighbors.
I write about what the first prime minister of Israel called "cruel Zionism."
I write about it because I was part of it.

Avenge This: US kills 500, spends $1 billion every day since 2001 in illegal Wars of Aggression

*hyperlinks live at source*

The Avengers has earned over $1 billion in ticket sales; this colossal amount of money communicates that the story inspires the hero in all of us.

Americans can direct their heroism here:

Because of the tremendous sacrifices of all our families through two world wars, the US authored war law into treaty status; US “Supreme Law” in Article 6 of the US Constitution. War law is crystal-clear: a nation can never use its military in armed attack unless another nation’s government attacks first. This means the US armed attacks/wars on all current nations are unlawful Wars of Aggression, the worst crime a nation can commit.

Peer-reviewed professional and independent studies conclude that the US war-murders (direct and indirect) ~500/day since 2001. Shockingly, this is lower than the US annual war-murder average since WW2 of ~1,000 to 1,500/day (20-30 million total; 300-500,000/year since 1945).

Iraq's Secret Prison Still Open, Human Rights Group Claims

Human Rights Watch said on Tuesday Iraqi authorities were still running a jail they said had been shut over a year ago after reports of prisoners being beaten and electrocuted, but the government denied this, saying the site was empty.

Human Rights Watch said in a Feb. 1 report that security forces were torturing inmates at Camp Honor, citing interviews with former detainees.

As well as electrocution, asphyxiation and beatings, the group said prisoners were packed into windowless cells that "reeked of human excrement".

Torture was widespread in Iraq under Sunni dictator Saddam Hussein, who was ousted in the U.S.-led invasion in 2003 and executed in 2006. Disclosures in 2004 that U.S. jailers had abused and sexually humiliated Iraqis at Abu Ghraib prison outraged many Iraqis.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The post-occupation Iraqi security establishment certainly had excellent training in torture from their US occupiers.

“We dance round in a ring and suppose/ But the secret sits in the middle and knows.” – (Robert Frost)

May 14 and 15 are paradoxically days of celebration and catastrophe; victors “dance round in a ring and suppose,” caught in a never ending quest to know if indeed this celebration is for victory or for defeat, while those vanquished understand “the secret that sits in the middle and knows.” Are the secrets Truth that we are afraid to delve into, too ashamed to acknowledge, or fear of a pending Nakba for the victor signaled by a merciful and just God?

'Engaging' on foreign policy -- after the election

Mitt Romney has assembled quite a few advisors on foreign policy, many of whom worked for the Bush/Cheney team, and given the former governor's inexperience and limited understanding of international affairs -- Swiss bank accounts don't count as proficiency in this area -- those who have his ear are getting a closer look.

With that in mind, the New York Times reports today that many members of Team Romney disagree with one another -- and at times, even the candidate -- about foreign policy, and occasionally, Romney's own advisors have no idea what he's trying to say.

US in Iraq: Death, DU, Deformities & Destruction

SEVEN YEARS LATER DEPLETED URANIUM PLAGUES FALLUJAH - It was once known as Iraq’s City of Mosques. But today Fallujah is known as a place where large numbers of children are born with deformities and many people there die from rare cancers. Now, new reports have linked the causes to depleted uranium munitions and white phosphorous shells that were used by U.S. forces during the brutal siege of the city in November 2004. The ferocious November siege in 2004 stands out as a war crime for which the Bush administration should be held accountable.

US cuts multi-billion dollar training programme for Iraq police

Original plans for 350 American law enforcement officers to carry out the scheme, which were promptly scaled back, have now been cut again to just 50 officers, according to The New York Times.

In a statement, the State Department did not dispute the figures but denied a claim that officials were considering scrapping the programme altogether by the end of the year.

"The US Embassy in Baghdad and the Department of State have no plans to shut down the Police Development Program in Iraq that began in October 2011," it said.

GIRALDI : A Tipping Point for Israel

So we have reached the point where the proverbial cat is out of the bag. Everyone, with the possible exception of the U.S. Congress, has become aware that there is something terribly wrong with Israel.

In Israel itself, where there is often ferocious debate over the country’s policies, it is time for a reckoning. Does Israel want to become a normal state with correct relationships with its neighbors, including an independent Palestine, or does it want to continue down the road that it is pursuing, which is folly and will lead to ruin?

U.S. May Scrap Costly Efforts to Train Iraqi Police

In the face of spiraling costs and Iraqi officials who say they never wanted it in the first place, the State Department has slashed — and may jettison entirely by the end of the year — a multibillion-dollar police training program that was to have been the centerpiece of a hugely expanded civilian mission here.

May 13 11:56

U.S. May Scrap Costly Efforts to Train Iraqi Police

The training effort, which began in October and has already cost $500 million, was conceived of as the largest component of a mission billed as the most ambitious American aid effort since the Marshall Plan. Instead, it has emerged as the latest high-profile example of the waning American influence here following the military withdrawal, and it reflects a costly miscalculation on the part of American officials, who did not count on the Iraqi government to assert its sovereignty so aggressively.

“I think that with the departure of the military, the Iraqis decided to say, ‘O.K., how large is the American presence here?’ ” said James F. Jeffrey, the American ambassador to Iraq, in an interview. “How large should it be? How does this equate with our sovereignty? In various areas they obviously expressed some concerns.”

Did JCS Chief Dempsey Just End the War on Islam?

If General Dempsey really wants to end the war on Islam, he should go to whatever lengths are necessary to expose the truth about 9/11. Did JCS Chief Dempsey Just End the War on Islam?

The neocon cabal of Zionist Christians and Jews behind 9/11 have tried to disguise their war on Islam as a “war on terror.” But occasionally one of them blurts out the truth: “I always thought it was a mistake not to say what Iraq really was, that is, a war against an expanding Islam,” opined neocon think-tanker James Schall of Georgetown University.*

Mitt Romney's Neocon War Cabinet

It’s safe to say that foreign policy was not the strong suit of this year’s contenders for the GOP presidential nomination. Rick Perry labeled the Turkish government “Islamic terrorists.” Newt Gingrich referred to Palestinians as “invented” people. Herman Cain called Uzbekistan “Ubeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan” and memorably blanked when asked what he thought of NATO’s incursion into Libya. Michele Bachmann pledged to close the US embassy in Iran, which hasn’t existed since 1980. Rick Santorum gave a major foreign policy speech at a Jelly Belly factory in California.

Yet though the candidates and their views were often hard to take seriously, their statements on foreign policy reflected a more disturbing trend in the GOP. Despite facing a war-weary public, the candidates—with the exception of Ron Paul, an antiwar libertarian, and Jon Huntsman, a moderate internationalist—positioned themselves as unapologetic war hawks.

"Lasting Pride" For the Hell We Left in Iraq

I’ve written [3] repeatedly [4] about the terrible dictatorship [5] and lasting sectarian violence [6] Washington left in Iraq after the troop withdrawal of December 2011. Contrary to the lies of these indecent politicians, the enduring effects of the illegal U.S. war in Iraq are still causing havoc and bloodshed throughout the country. Iraq is neither secure, nor is it a democracy as was promised by warmongers in Washington.

Robert Fisk: The Children of Fallujah - Sayef's story

Many of the Fallujah families whose children have been born with what doctors call "congenital birth anomalies" prefer to keep their doors closed to strangers, regarding their children as a mark of personal shame rather than possible proof that something terrible took place here after the two great American battles against insurgents in the city in 2004, and another conflict in 2007.

After at first denying the use of phosphorous shells during the second battle of Fallujah, US forces later admitted that they had fired the munitions against buildings in the city. Independent reports have spoken of a birth-defect rate in Fallujah far higher than other areas of Iraq, let alone other Arab countries.

'Never Again' is an Empty Slogan

The United States must resolve that ‘never again’ is not just an ‘empty slogan’, said U.S. President Barack Obama on Thursday, in a statement marking Holocaust Remembrance Day. Yet, I am left bewildered, what does president Obama refers to? Is ‘never again’ a universal message pointing at genocides in general or did he refer to Jewish suffering only? With 1,455,590 dead Iraqis due to an Anglo American criminal war, it seems as if the USA is actually complicit in an actual genocide.

REPORT: Broadcast News Networks Misrepresent Intelligence On Iranian Nuclear Issues

Many in the media have long since repudiated their failures in the lead-up to the Iraq War, acknowledging that they were too quick to accept the false notion that Iraq possessed a sizable and dangerous cache of weapons of mass destruction. The question today is whether they have learned from those mistakes.

But fast forward to today, and the media's coverage of Iran's nuclear program suggests that some outlets have not learned from Iraq reporting failures and risk repeating history. Media Matters reviewed transcripts of ABC's World News, CBS' Evening News, and NBC's Nightly News between November 8, 2011 and March 31, 2012. The examination reveals that once again the media is frequently misrepresenting the expert opinion of the intelligence community.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It does not matter if ABCNNBBCBSFOX learned from the 'mistake' of their lies about Iraq or if they repeat the lies about Iran now. The important fact is that the AUDIENCE learned from their mistake of trusting ABCNNBBCBSFOX on Iraq and are no longer listening to them any more.

This book, eloquently written by a former director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is a must read, both for the wealth of information it provides on the contentious issues of global nuclear diplomacy as well as for the passionate and compelling case that it presents for a war crime tribunal to prosecute United States and British leaders who instigated the calamitous invasion of Iraq in 2003 on the false pretext of weapons of mass destruction.

At Fallujah hospital they cannot offer any statistics on children born with birth defects – there are just too many. Parents don’t want to talk. "Families bury their newborn babies after they die without telling anyone," says hospital spokesman Nadim al-Hadidi. "It’s all too shameful for them.

The pictures are difficult to look at. And, those responsible for all this have closed their eyes.

"In 2004 the Americans tested all kinds of chemicals and explosive devices on us: thermobaric weapons, white phosphorous, depleted uranium...we have all been laboratory mice for them," says Hadidi, turning off the projector.

US Support for Emerging Dictatorship in Iraq May Have ‘Catastrophic’ Effects

Overall violence in Iraq has gone down since the last U.S. troops finally withdrew in December, but Washington’s avid support for the emerging dictator in Baghdad has troubling implications for Iraqis.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has demonstrated an increasingly authoritarian rule as he consolidates power over the country’s institutions and security forces. He has marginalized his political opponents through force and coercion, which has stoked sectarian tensions and even threatened a break-up of the nation. And Obama is supporting all of it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is yet another clear demonstration that for the US government, democracy is only tolerated when it is convenient; not when it is inconvenient, or difficult to achieve, or when the outcome is NOT what the US and/or Israel likes, as happened with the democratic election of the Hamas leadership in Gaza.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Curveball" was used to launder the lies, but he was not the source of them. Bush, Powell, PNAC, etc. et. al. are just dropping the blame on him, so they can claim to be trustworthy when they claim Iran needs to be invaded.

Now the US government (and the corporate media) can all play victim, saying they were all fooled by this man, and put in their innocent big-eyed smile.

But in order to believe that the US Government and ABCNNBBCBSFOX are victims, you have to believe that they all, with millions of dollars in equipment and staffing in the hundreds, missed the obvious signs of lies that the bloggers operating on spare change found under seat cushions were all reporting at the time.

Video - Fallujah : A Lost Generation?

Fallujah: A Lost Generation? by Iraqi filmmaker Furat Alani investigates the dramatic increase in cancers, birth defects, and infant mortality since the second siege of Fallujah, Iraq,in 2004 and its human rights implications. Mr. Alani interviews Fallujah residents, doctors, veterans, and weapons experts to shed light on the cause of this health crisis. Allawi’s Iraqiya Party threatened earlier this week to withdraw its ministers from the coalition government unless Maliki agreed to a number of concessions, notably ending summary detentions and a general amnesty for those being held on political charges.

Pentagon’s Iran Buildup Call for Adding Laser Weapons

The U.S. Central Command plans to bolster military capabilities against Iran by fielding new laser target-trackers for machine guns, enhanced sensors for underwater vehicles, improved protection against drone attacks and upgrades of U-2 spy planes.

“There’s no significant area where I’ve got to come in and say, we’ve got a big problem here.” Central Command commander General James Mattis told the House Armed Services Committee on March 7. “They’re just areas I want to make certain we maintain our edge.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

I find it difficult to believe that the approval of these weapons systems is just for show, or just being done for bragging rights, or for propaganda.

Sometimes, watching the American military rush to war against Iran is like watching an on-coming, slow-motion train wreck, where I can see what is about to happen, and not being quite sure how to stop it.

But I would strongly caution those in the bowels of DC and Tel Aviv on the following:

1. The American people are sick, tired, and angry at the consistent Israeli demands for more American blood and American money be sacrificed upon the altar of potential Israeli hegemony in the Middle East, and they want it stopped, right the heck now, thank you very much. They have a very clear understanding (particularly those whose family members and friends either got killed or maimed for life) that the war against Iraq was based on a pack of lies, and was engineered to "neutralize" one of Israel's "enemies du jour" at the time. And let's see, how brilliantly did that military misadventure work out?!? We have one million Iraqis dead; thousands suffering from exposure to depleted uranium, manifesting as aggressive cancers and massive birth defects; the complete destruction of Iraqi's infrastructure; thousands of Americans dead and wounded; no significant control of Iraqi's oil fields, and - oh, yes - a trillion dollars tacked on to the US deficit. From a completely cold-blooded cost/benefit ratio analysis, this was a catastrophic charlie foxtrot, which has made the American people no more safe, and no more prosperous, than when the invasion and occupation happened.

2. Unless this attack is an absolute blitzkrieg, executed to lethal perfection, such a war may well drag on for quite some time. The US government no longer has the troop strength, the money, or the manufacturing, to successfully pursue a drawn out military campaign here.

3. Leaders from three nuclear-armed countries, Russia, China, and Pakistan, have gone public, stating that should Iran be attacked, they will come to its aid military.

So what we have here is the potential for a global, thermonuclear war over an alleged Iranian weapons program, which cannot, to date, be proven to exist!!

Are Middle East & African Wars Really About Protecting the Immoral Global Banking System & Fighting Gold?

In a speech retired US Army General Wesley Clark gave in August of 2001, we are reminded that many wars and major military theater operations are planned years or sometimes even decades in advance and that the excuses to justify them are likely fabricated. In this short speech that General Clark gave more than 10 years ago, he stated that the US had already planned to invade Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Somalia, Sudan, Libya and Iran. We already know that Iraq has fallen, that Libya has been taken out, that there is a brutal ongoing war in Syria and in the Sudan now, that there has been ongoing war in Somalia since 2009, and that war in Iran now seems inevitable.

Voice of America falls for Iraqi Printer virus hoax

Why was the hoax so successful?

The easy answer is to simply call everyone who falls for the joke a momentary idiot. Secret National Security Agency computer scientists made viruses that hobbled Saddam’s anti-air defense without firing a shot! Or maybe it didn’t work but it sure was a good plan!

In this respect, the joke is ageless. People are just as able to nebulously theorize about the tech of it and its implications in 2003 as they were in 1991. Will an updated version of the nonexistent AF/91 virus be used against unwired Iraq? Stay tuned… April 1st is less than a month away.

U.S. senator calls for naval blockade of Iran

Chairman of the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee says blockade should precede military action, in bid to pressure Iran to cease its drive for nuclear weapons.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Back in 1981, Israel claimed that Iraq was building nuclear weapons underneath the power station at Osirak. Israel bombed the power station. Following the 2003 invasion, IAEA inspectors examined the wreckage and concluded there had never been a weapons factory underneath it (as Israel has underneath Dimona). Then in 2008, Israel started screaming that Syria was building nuclear weapons and bombed again, destroying what was later shown to be a non-nuclear military construction site.

The hard fact is that Israel is batting absolutely zero in terms of actually finding anyone who is building bombs under their reactors (as Israel does underneath Dimona), so it begs the imagination that with a track record like that, why is anyone still listening as Israel points the finger at Iran? Nuclear duck? Netanyahu is the little boy crying nuclear wolf!

At least 90 Iraqi teenagers with "emo" appearances have been stoned to death by religious extremists in Baghdad in the past month after an inflammatory interior ministry statement dubbed it "devil worshiping", activists said.

A group of armed men dressed in civilian clothing led dozens of teenagers to secluded areas a few days ago, stoned them to death, and then disposed their bodies in garbage dumpsters across the capital, according to activists.

British Propagandist in Syria: The Good Guys?

Just in time for the “Friends of Syria” conference led by former imperialists Britain and France who appear to be piecemeal reassembling their empires under the cover of US-led, NATO-backed “revolutions,” the world was treated to a spectacularly timed “casus belli.” It was dubiously reported by Western media that the Syrian government had intentionally shelled the position of British and French journalists in the city of Homs for the explicit purpose of “silencing them.” The reports claimed that the attacks were planned and broadcast over easily intercepted radio traffic picked up by intelligence officers in Lebanon. It would turn out that these journalists had illegally entered the country.

FOX NEWS' "WIPE THEM OFF OF THE MAP" MOMENT!

Webmaster's Commentary:

In this short video clip from FOX News, two astounding pieces of propaganda are put forward. The first is the claim that the United States is the only nation with the "moral authority" to wage pre-emptive war on the rest of the world, because (according to FOX) the US is NOT seeking hegemony. Apparently, invading ten countries on two continents arises only out of the most humanitarian motives! This comment appears to be the Americanized version of Ariel Sharon's infamous quote, "Israel may have the right to put others on trial, but certainly no one has the right to put the Jewish people and the State of Israel on trial."

But the second comment, that Iran should be annihilated, deserves to be reposted all over the net!

Remember back when it was alleged that Ahmadinejad had said he would "wipe Israel off of the map?" ABCNNBBCBSFOX made a huge uproar over what a monstrous thing that was to say, ignoring the fact that Shimon Peres had been saying the same thing about Iran all along. As it turns out, what Ahmadinejad actually said was that Israel would, because of its own faults, vanish from the pages of history (which many observers agree with) which is not quite the same as calling for its destruction. The skewed translation had been provided to ABCNNBBCBSFOX by MEMRI, a suspected Israeli intelligence operation and the American media, long bribed by Israel to bias the news in their favor repeated the misquote without question, then soundly condemned Iran and Ahmadinejad for that statement.

So now we have FOX News calling for Iran to be annihilated. Not just Ahmadinejad, not just Khamenei, not just Iran's army, but everything and everyone in that nation, which has not actually attacked us! Why? Because according to FOX, they are all "lunatics". Perhaps, in appropriate homage to their ideological roots, they should use the word 'Untermenschen'!

So where is the firestorm of protest when a man gets up on TV and calls for an entire nation to be erased from the face of the Earth, which is what annihilation really means? It seems there is a double standard in the American media; condemnation when Ahmadinejad is merely rumored to have called for another nation to be erased from the face of the Earth, but when Tucker Carlson actually says it in a language we can all understand, there is no protest at all, indeed we see agreement from the faces around him on FOX!

Please share this everywhere you can.

THE HIDDEN ANTHRAX LETTERS SUSPECT

The FBI knows of a man who was caught entering the lab where the Anthrax used in the letters was kept, after he had been fired for a racially motivated attack on a co-worker. So, why is the FBI wasting its time with Steven Hatfill and Bruce Ivins?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Once again letters filled with suspicious powders are being mailed to celebrities and members of congress to try to scare up (emphasis on 'scare') support for yet another war of conquest in which your children will be blown to bloody bits attacking yet another of Israel's enemies (the problem being that Israel makes enemies faster than you can breed more children).

Banking's SWIFT ready to stop Iran transactions

Belgium-based SWIFT, which provides banks with a system for moving funds around the world, bowed to international pressure on Friday and said it was ready to block Iranian banks from using its network to transfer money further isolating Iran's economy on the global stage.

Expelling Iranian banks from the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication would shut down Tehran's main avenue to doing business with the rest of the world - an outcome the West believes is crucial to curbing Iran's nuclear ambitions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

1. Iran is using nuclear technology for energy, not a weapons program.

2. Because China, India, and other countries are continuing to buy Iranian oil, this expulsion from SWIFT will be nothing more than a temporary annoyance, to be remedied by other means and measures.

FLASHBACK - THE LIE OF THE CENTURY

Krauthammer: Israel Will Not Tolerate Threats of Annihilation

Syndicated columnist and political commentator, Charles Krauthammer, appeared on FOX News over the weekend, addressing the issue of a possible Israeli strike on Iranian nuclear facilities prior to the American general elections. He saw it as inevitable.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to Charles Krauthammer: sir, I am aware of your personal story, the triumph over the physical trauma of your injuries, and your formidable intellectual gifts.

However, that having been said, using those gifts to create a causus belli for an Israel pre-emptive strike against Iran is both morally - and intellectually - dishonest in the extreme.

I would like to remind you, sir, that - unlike Iran - Israel refuses to become a signatory to the NNPT, has nuclear weapons, and refuses any inspections of its nuclear sites.

I would also like to remind you, sir, that all US aid to any countries which possess nuclear weapons is technically illegal, under the US's Symington Amendment to the Foreign Appropriations Act and the Glenn Act.

To date, all of the IAEA's inspections of Iranian nuclear facilities have demonstrated that absolutely no nuclear materials have been diverted for weapons' purposes.

The level to which Iranian scientists have been enriching their uranium is only to 20%, necessary for producing medical isotopes. A nuclear weapon would take over 95% enrichment. So far, there is absolutely no evidence that this is taking place.

If this is not the case, please then provide the American people with the facts. But of course, you will not, because you cannot, because such alleged "facts" do not exist.

It confounds me that you would make the charge that "“I think Israel will strike because it cannot live under the threat of annihilation from Iran."

And there you are, invoking one of the most allegedly controversial things that Iranian President Mahmoud Amedinejad never said.

The devil is in the detail, wiping Israel off the map suggests a physical genocidal assault, a literal population relocation or elimination akin to what the Nazis did. According to numerous different translations, Ahmadinejad never used the word "map," instead his statement was in the context of time and applied to the Zionist regime occupying Jerusalem. Ahmadinejad was expressing his future hope that the Zionist regime in Israel would fall, not that Iran was going to physically annex the country and its population. To claim Ahmadinejad has issued a rallying cry to ethnically cleanse Israel is akin to saying that Churchill wanted to murder all Germans when he stated his desire to crush the Nazis. This is about the demise of a corrupt occupying power, not the deaths of millions of innocent people.

Mr. Krauthammer, I am rather amazed that you would resort to such a "big lie" technique, knowing it would ultimately come back to haunt you.Because if I understand the essence of what was said here, other thinking people will understand this as well.

Yes, Israel can start such an attack; but most probably not finish it even somewhat successfully without US military intervention.

“In practice, since 2009, the US military controls Israel's Air Defense system, which is integrated into the US global missile defense system,” Michel Chossudovsky, the director of the Center for Research on Globalization, wrote in an article published on the Global Research website on Friday. “Under these circumstances, Israel cannot launch a war against Iran without the consent of Washington and the involvement of the Pentagon,” he added. The United States and Israel have repeatedly threatened Tehran with the "option" of a military strike based on the allegation, championed by Washington, Tel Aviv, and their allies, that Iran's nuclear activities may comprise a covert military agenda.

I would like to strongly caution you, Mr. Krauthammer, that the American people have grown increasingly weary and restive regarding the continued costs in American blood and money which have been spent as a sacrifice upon the altar of potential Israeli hegemony in the Middle East, first with Iraq (remember; Israel's former 'existential threat') and now, Iran.

I would also like to remind you, sir, that officials of both the Chinese and Russian government have gone on record stating that if Iran is attacked, these two nuclear-armed countries will defend Iran with their military assets.

So to recap, we have the potential for a global, thermonuclear war, courtesy of a pre-emptive Israeli strike against Iran, which hasn't started a war in over 200 years, and definitely not since becoming an Islamic Republic in 1979. It's nuclear weapons program has absolutely not been substantiated in fact.

And one final note, Mr. Krauthammer; as you are well aware, Iran is home to one of the largest components of Jewish people in the Middle East, outside of Israel. Any attack against Iran will surely kill numerous Jewish people as well. Is this an acceptable outcome for Israel, in the slaughtering of their fellow and sister Jews in Iran?!?

Or are they simply considered "unworthy of life" by the Israeli government, because they have refused to "make aliyah", i.e., return "home" to Israel?!?

The Election We Should Be Following

A useful example to highlight the contrast between Congressman Dennis Kucinich and Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur is found in the funding of wars. Between 2001 and 2009, Congresswoman Kaptur voted for $545 billion in war funding, voting Yes over and over again for Bush's wars. Congressman Dennis Kucinich voted for a total of $17 billion. (See the chart below.)

In the lead up to the invasion of Iraq, Kucinich's was the clearest voice against it. He circulated evidence of war lies to his colleagues. He organized many of them to vote No with him. Kaptur, too, voted No on the authorization.

CIA drone strikes tend to be reported on a case-by-case basis. Yet it became clear to the Bureau that a number of specific tactics were being deployed. Divining the Truth about Iran

And, America’s FCM consistently ignores the official NIE when writing news stories hyping Iran’s nuclear threat. However, if you read the articles very closely you may see references to Iran supposedly working toward the “capacity to build” nuclear weapons, not that Iran is actually working on building a nuclear bomb.

The distinction is important, but it is so subtle as to be misleading. Most casual readers would simply assume that Iran is building a nuclear bomb.

The FCM’s rhetorical shift from accusing Iran of “building” nukes to seeking a “capacity to build” them is reminiscent of Bush’s sleight of hand when he went from talking about Iraq’s supposed WMD “stockpiles” to its WMD “programs” – after it turned out there were no WMD stockpiles.

On the other hand, maybe it is time to pay more attention to those hundreds of nuclear weapons Israel has been building underneath Dimona (without signing the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty), one of which they were caught trying to sell to South Africa!

One million dead

OVER A million Iraqis are dead from America's war.

That sentence is a cognitive litmus test. Some people's immediate reaction is, "That can't be right," because the United States couldn't do that. Or because crimes on that scale don't still happen. Or because they do happen, but only in horrible places that the United States hasn't rescued.

One million is a "Grandpa, what did you do to stop it?" number. It's a number that undeniably puts the American state among history's villains. Those who are not willing or able to accept this are physically unable to retain the fact that over a million Iraqis are dead. Their brains expel it like a foreign germ.

Webmaster's Commentary:

WARNING: VERY GRAPHIC PICTURE AT THE TOP OF THIS ARTICLE, showing two dead children in the morgue of the Baqouba Hospital, Iraq, Monday, November 21st, 2005.

This very much reminds me of a very scathing email I received from a very corporate salesperson about why he wouldn't advertise with WRH, and it was because of just such disturbing images he saw here.

In this man's world, it was impossible for him to begin to comprehend that every single difficult and graphic image which finds its way to this site is a direct or indirect result of US foreign policy.

So, let's recap all the "good" that came from the invasion and occupation of Iraq, shall we?!?

1. A genocide of the Iraqi people, with over 1 million dead.
2. The complete destruction of the country's infrastructure, which afforded the country one of the highest standards of living in the Middle East before being bombed into ruin.
3. The showering of the Iraqi people with depleted uranium weapons, leading to gross malformations of babies and massive jumps in incidents of cancer.
4. Courtesy of "de-Baathification" putting Shiites in charge of the government formerly controlled by the Sunnis, creating an horrendous Sunni-Shiite schism which never existed under Saddam Hussein's regime.
5. Leaving the country broke, decimated, and on the brink of sectarian civil war when the US troops left in December of last year.
6. Making Shiite-ruled Iran the greatest benefactor of the US invasion and occupation.
7. Oh, I forgot: a couple of US oil corporations did wind up with oil development deals from the new Iraqi government.

Massive US Military Buildup on Two Strategic Islands: Socotra and Masirah

While quietly casting lines to draw Tehran into talks on their nuclear dispute, PresidentBarack Obama is reported exclusively by DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s military and Washington sources to have secretly ordered US air, naval and marine forces to build up heavy concentrations on two strategic islands – Socotra, which is part of a Yemeni archipelago in the Indian Ocean, and the Omani island of Masirah at the southern exit of the Strait of Hormuz.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Debka is less than reliable about these things, but if it turns out to be true, the implications are alarming. Neither Socotra or Masirah are positioned to seriously affect the invasion of Iran, especially Socotra. Neither island has existing facilities useful for military purposes. Even the airport runways are for light aircraft only, so this is a total garrisoning from the ground up and a very expensive operation.

If this turns out to be true, it means the US is getting ready to seize control of both the Straight of Hormuz and the Gulf of Aden, to hold the rest of the world hostage with a threat to cut off the flow of all Mideast oil unless the rest of the world goes along with the US agenda, which is really the Israeli agenda. This may be an act of desperation to block of Iran's oil in the face of a world unwilling to go along with further USreal provocations.

Pentagon To Begin Talks With Iraq on New Defense Agreement

The Obama administration will begin talks with the Iraqi government on a new long-term defense agreement that may include an expanded number of U.S. troops, according to Defense Secretary Leon Panetta’s chief policy aide.

The scope and depth of the new defense relationship is not decided yet, but the Obama administration is reportedly “open to Iraqi suggestions.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to Leon Panetta: sir, with what part of "the Iraqis do not want US troops back in their country" are you having a problem?!?

And have you considered that Muktada Al Sadr declared, last year, that any US troops in Iraq beyond the 31st December SOFA agreement of last year, will be considered "fair game" for Iraqi reprisals and retribution?!?

A powerful anti- American Shiite cleric in Iraq with thousands of followers threatened Sunday that U.S. forces who stay past the Dec. 31 withdrawal deadline are fair game to attack. Read more: Al-Sadr says U.S. troops who stay next year may be attacked - The Denver Post http://www.denverpost.com/nationworld/ci_18636209?source=rss#ixzz1l3OA... Read The Denver Post's Terms of Use of its content: http://www.denverpost.com/termsofuse

Sir, if I understand this, as just a plain old American citizen, it strikes me very strange that apparently...you either don't understand this, or are just choosing to ignore this potential reality, and are completely comfortable about putting more American troops in harm's way.

So the only logical reason I can come up with for these negotiations is that you want American troops back in Iraq to absorb the bullets from a fierce counterattack from Iran, should Iran be attacked.

I would like to remind you, sir, that Iran hasn't initiated a war in over 200 years, and definitely not since becoming an Islamic Republic in 1979.

I would also like to remind you, sir, that the Russian and Chinese military and civilian leadership have gone on record, stating that they will defend Iran, should Iran be attacked by the US and/or Israel; as you are keenly aware, both countries are nuclear armed.

don’t necessarily have much to do with fighting terrorism. See this, this and this.

They are, in reality, about oil.

And protecting Israel (and read the section entitled “Securing the Realm” here).

But as AFP reports today, there is another major motivation for the expanding wars:

The latest round of American sanctions are aimed at shutting down Iran’s central bank, a senior US official said Thursday, spelling out that intention directly for the first time.

“We do need to close down the Central Bank of Iran (CBI),” the official told reporters on condition of anonymity, while adding that the United States is moving quickly to implement the sanctions, signed into law last month.

Ron Paul Becomes Only Option for Anti-War Vote

A curious glance at the current crop of presidential candidates makes it clear that Ron Paul stands alone when it comes to the issue of US engagement in foreign wars. He stands with George Washington against foreign entanglements while the rest of the candidates stand with Teddy Roosevelt and the attempted creation of America’s first empire one hundred and twelve years ago.

Mark Twain responded to that effort by creating the Anti-imperialist society while he caustically satirized the effort in his depiction of the massacre of the Moros in the Philippines. Now we have more massacres, using drones instead of canons, on equally hapless civilians who are caught unawares or hiding from the wrath of America’s righteousness as we drive to bring virtue to a primitive world.

Boom in Fallujah Birth Defects Continues To Go Uninvestigated

Though the US has denied using prohibited weapons in Fallujah, a study in September 2011 found chemical contamination in local soil and water samples, as well as hair samples from the families of children with birth defects. Mercury, uranium, and bismuth are among the suspected culprits causing this unprecedented rise in congenital abnormalities.

Research has also shown a 12-fold increase in childhood cancers since 2004. The normal birth rate has also been skewed, with only 86 boys now being born for every 100 girls in Fallujah. The birth defect rate is more than 14 times that found today in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ah, the American legacy in Iraq; massive birth defects and cancers among its children, and a society on the brink of a vicious sectarian civil war!

Iran: The Neocons Are At It Again

he same neocons who persuaded George W. Bush and crew to, in Ron Paul's inimitable words, "lie their way into invading Iraq" in 2003, are beating the drums of war more loudly these days to attack Iran. It is remarkable how many of these war-mongers are former draft dodgers who wanted other Americans to fight the war in Vietnam.

With the exception of Ron Paul, who actually knows the history of U.S.-Iranian relations, the Republican presidential contenders have declared their belligerency toward Iranian officials who they accuse of moving toward nuclear weapons.

The Iranian regime disputes that charge, claiming they are developing the technology for nuclear power and nuclear medicine.

Cringing is the sight of super wealthy career politicians throwing sand in each other’s eyes to scrabble up the pole for yet further personal accumulation of capital; disturbing is the easy way that psychopathic targeting of imagined enemies whether at home or abroad is worn like a badge of honour. Gov. Perry Vows to Reinvade Iraq if Elected

After a disappointing fifth place finish in the Iowa Caucuses, Gov. Rick Perry of Texas is looking to build some momentum to salvage his campaign and, as is so often the case with candidates, is looking to do so with hawkish policy statements.

But while other candidates have focused on starting new wars, usually in Iran, Gov. Perry promised to re-start an old war, saying that not only did he believe withdrawing from Iraq was a “huge error” but that if elected he would reinvade.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Rick, the US did not "withdraw". The US was kicked out. But if you want to invade, go right ahead. Here's your rifle and here's your parachute. We'll call and tell them you are on your way to kick their butts all by yourself.

Fallujah babies: Under a new kind of siege

Fallujah, Iraq - While the US military has formally withdrawn from Iraq, doctors and residents of Fallujah are blaming weapons like depleted uranium and white phosphorous used during two devastating US attacks on Fallujah in 2004 for what are being described as "catastrophic" levels of birth defects and abnormalities.

Dr Samira Alani, a paediatric specialist at Fallujah General Hospital, has taken a personal interest in investigating an explosion of congenital abnormalities that have mushroomed in the wake of the US sieges since 2005.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Warning: extremely, painfully graphic images of what has happened as a direct result of US foreign policy under President Bush.

But I am urging you not to look away from these images; in fact, I am urging you to imagine, for one moment, that these children were your children, dealing with the after-effects of US use of depleted uranium and white phosphorous.

The lives of these children, and their families, have been ripped from them; and yet, to those in the bowels of power in DC, they were always "expendable" to bring about an accepted geopolitical outcome in Iraq.

That geopolitical outcome was about "neutralizing" Saddam Hussein, who never had weapons of mass destruction to begin with, but had nationalized Iraqi oil, making it impossible for American companies to control it.

Well, all of that changed in 2009, Exxon-Mobil got a development deal with Iraq, which I am sure Exxon-Mobil, and the politicians they own in Congress, were delighted to have happen. And in fact, thsse politicians shilled for this war against Iraq to insure, ultimately, that it would happen.

After all, it would always be "someone else's kid" who got killed or maimed for life to obtain this economic opportunity for American corporations; additionally, it would always be "someone else's kid" who would have to live with the consequences of the US military's use of depleted uranium and white phosphorous in Ira.

Rockets hit Green Zone as Iraq marks Army Day

Rockets were fired against Baghdad’s Green Zone as Iraq’s military marked its anniversary with a parade Friday, a day after the country suffered its worst attacks since August and weeks after US troops left.

Further violence against Shiite pilgrims, who were the targets of Thursday’s bombings, killed two people, the latest in a spike in attacks against the majority community amid a political crisis that has stoked sectarian tensions.

Meanwhile, top officials in Nasiriyah, worst hit by Thursday’s bloodshed, held a funeral for two Sunni soldiers who, officers said, tried to prevent a suicide attack that killed 47 people in the southern city.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, the outcomes of the US invasion and occupation of Iraq have been as follows:

1. A complete destruction of its infrastructure
2. The deaths of over a million civilians
3. The creation of massive cases of cancer and horrendous birth deformities among babies whose parents were exposed to depleted uranium weapons
4. Over a trillion dollars spent in this endeavor by the US government, which has benefited neither the Iraqi people, nor the American people. We are no more "safe" than before the invasion and occupation.
5. In fact, this war, and the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan have been recruiting tools for those in the region who would wish us harm.
6. As a result of the de-Baathification of Iraq, which included turning over governmental power to the Shiites, Iraq is descending into a blood civil war.
7. At this point, the only country seeming to to have benefited from the US invasion and occupation of Iraq is...Shiite governed Iran!

THERE now; aren't you happy on the outcomes of this trillion dollars of US taxpayer money which was spent on this?!? While homeless Vets sleep in our streets; US jobs continue to get outsourced, causing Americans to be losing their homes, and living the quiet desperation of squalor in tent cities; and while the US infrastructure crumbles before our eyes?!?

Of course the US government doesn't really care; Exxon-Mobile got its oil development leases back in 09; and it was the oil leases which were the design objective for this war, because Saddam Hussein had previously nationalized the oil industry for the benefit of the Iraqi people, and American companies were locked out of the bidding process.

The Iraqi Oil Ministry on Thursday said it has awarded a consortium led by Exxon Mobil Corp. and Royal Dutch Shell PLC the right to develop the West Qurna-1 oil field, representing the first American-led team gaining access to the country's oil patch.

THIS was what every American military personnel who died, or wound up maimed for life, was fighting for in a very publicly funded war, ultimately for private profit.

IRAQ'S LIBERATION LEGACY.

It is not as if the US and its "Coalition of the Willing" didn't know what were the effects of DU, its effects were well documented and discussed. A quote from "- Lt. Col. M.V. Ziehmn, Los Alamos National Laboratory memorandum,March 1st 1991 states, "There has been and continues to be a concern regarding the impact of DU on the environment. Therefore, if no-one makes a case for the effectiveness of DU on the battlefield, DU rounds may become politically unacceptable and thus be deleted from the arsenal. I believe we should keep this sensitive issue in mind when action reports are written."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please note: graphic and disturbing images here of kids whose parents were exposed to DU when their moms became pregnant. But I would like every person who has the courage to look at them imagine, for one moment, that these were your children.

The poem at the bottom, featuring the work of Lyla Anwar, is disturbingly powerful.

No one ever wants to see, even in poetic visions, any image of any American military personnel being the "bad guys".

Yet in the reality of Iraqi men and women, it was the American military which did this, even though the higher-ups in the chain of command understood full well what the price these kids and their families would pay for the use of DU weapons.

But it's not just the Iraqis who have been hit with this: US veterans returning from both the Gulf War and the war in Iraq have experienced illnesses, deaths, and have had children with horrendous deformities as a result of this exposure. Of course, to the American military, these people are considered "expendable."

Whatever other factors there may be, some of their illnesses are strikingly similar to those of Iraqis exposed to DU dust. For example, soldiers have also fathered children without eyes. And, in a group of eight servicemen whose babies lack eyes seven are known to have been directly exposed to DU dust. They too have fathered children with stunted arms, and rare abnormalities classically associated with radiation damage. They too seem prone to cancer and leukemia. That the evidence from Iraq and from our troops, and the research findings of such experts, have been ignored may be no accident. A US report, leaked in late 1995, allegedly says, 'The potential for health effects from DU exposure is real; however it must be viewed in perspective... the financial implications of long-term disability payments and healthcare costs would be excessive.'3

Iraq's Sadrists call to dissolve parliament

A suicide attack killed five people at the interior ministry in Baghdad as a key political bloc called for early elections in a worsening standoff that has stoked sectarian tensions.

The blast, which left dozens wounded on Monday, came just days after the capital was struck by its deadliest violence in more than four months.

The parliamentary coalition loyal to anti-US Shia cleric Moqtada al-Sadr said it backed the dissolution of parliament and early elections in a dispute that has seen Iraq's Sunni vice president accused of running a death squad and a deputy prime minister call the government a "dictatorship".

Webmaster's Commentary:

Should Moqtada al-Sadr be successful in this effort, this means that the US has lost completely and totally any control over Iraq's affairs (including who gets the oil development leases).

Iraqi PM chides Sunni provinces pushing for autonomy, warns of ‘rivers of blood’

Iraq’s prime minister warned Saturday that efforts to create an autonomous Sunni region within Iraq would divide the country and lead to “rivers of blood.”

Since al-Maliki formed his government last December, minority Sunnis have been complaining of being marginalized by the Shiite-led government, prompting some Sunni provinces to call for turning into an autonomous region similar to the northern Kurdish region.

As an autonomous region, they would be able to conduct their own security affairs and have more independence in attracting investment. While the regions would still be part of Iraq, it would weaken Baghdad’s control. Many worry that it would be the first step to breaking up the country along sectarian lines.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The coming balkanization of Iraq is JUST what the US wanted to see happen here, to prevent a strong government with the capability to create a pan-Arab confederation of Middle-Eastern nations, as Saddam Hussein had wanted.

And by the way, just how "radical" can this Shiite cleric, Muqtada al-Sadr be, if he has come up with a peace proposal, which "...warns against spilling Iraqi blood and urges respect for all religions, sects and ethnic groups." ?!?

Just asking!

U.S. Embraces Low-Key Plan as Turmoil in Iraq Deepens

As Iraq erupted in recent days, Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. was in constant phone contact with the leaders of the country’s dueling sects. He called the Shiite prime minister and the Sunni speaker of the Parliament on Tuesday, and the Kurdish leader on Thursday, urging them to try to resolve the political crisis.

And for the United States, that is where the American intervention in Iraq officially stops

Webmaster's Commentary:

Iraq may well be headed for an horrendous civil war.

However, American foreign policy makers brought this on the heads of the Iraqi people by its de-Baathification program, which meant that Shiite politicians replaced the Sunni, and set in motion the deep divisions we are seeing today in Iraqi society.

Because of this, the country which has benefited the most from this process is Shiite Iran.

Panetta: Iraq War was “worth it”

A day after visiting Iraq, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta spoke to reporters in Turkey on Saturday and said this, according to the DoD’s own site:

"There is no question that the United States was divided going into that war," he said. "But I think the United States is united coming out of that war. We all recognize the tremendous price that has been paid in lives, in blood. And yet I think we also recognize that those lives were not lost in vain. . . .

"As difficult as [the Iraq war] was," and the cost in both American and Iraqi lives, "I think the price has been worth it, to establish a stable government in a very important region of the world," he added

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but has Leon Panetta gone absolutely, frothing-at-the-mouth, barking mad, to have made these statements?

What has been "won", except for those US oil companies which have won oil development contracts with the Baghdad government?

It's common knowledge that one of the reasons Saddam Hussein was so hated by the West was his having nationalized the oil companies, so the benefits of oil profits went back to the people of Iraq.

And the alleged "stability" of Al-Malaki's government?!? I'd start laughing, but it would be harder than heck to stop. And why?!? Well, let me count the ways in which the "stability" of the Iraqi government is perceived in mysterious ways for those in the bowels of power in Washington.

1. An arrest warrant has been issued against the Iraqi Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi late Saturday for being the mastermind behind the recent bombing targeting the parliament, spokesman of Baghdad police operations said.

2. The Iraqiya political bloc boycotted parliament today over Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s failure to properly share power and the arrests of hundreds of Sunni Iraqiya supporters in a crackdown against alleged Ba’ath Party members. Meanwhile, at least five Iraqis were killed and four more were wounded in light violence.

3. Al-Sadr's surprising comments comes in response to a statement made by Iranian ambassador to Iraq Hassan Danaifar to local Iraqi media. In this statement, Danaifar threatened that Iran would respond against Iraq in the event of the US carrying out an attack on the country from its bases within Iraq. He stressed that "we informed the Iraqi officials that Iran will, of course, respond to any attacks carried out against it from within Iraqi territory." The Iranian ambassador to Iraq also confirmed that "our Iraqi friends have confirmed that they would not allow any country to use its territory to launch at attack on Iran."

A "stable" post-invasion Iraq, where old ethnic rivalries between Sunni and Shiite are still boiling just beneath the surface; where Iraqis are sick and suffering from depleted uranium poisoning; the economy is in tatters, and the infrastructure destroyed?!? I wouldn't bet on it, even if I were Leon Panetta!

Pentagon says Iran concerned primarily with deterring an attack

The Iran question is often posed, as it was in last week's debate to Ron Paul, as a hypothetical. If Iran was proven to have a nuclear weapon what steps would be taken by the US to assure they did not attack Israel? The establishment media is skillful in the presentation and structure of the debate. The question assumes it is the responsibility of the US to protect Israel from a strike by Iran. But more importantly it assumes that Iran has the ability and strategic desire to attack Israel.

This unclassified assessment of Iran's military capability by the US Department of Defense clearly states that "To ensure regime survival, Iran's security strategy is based first on deterring an attack."

They then drove him to the cache for further treatment.
