Yesterday, June 22nd, our network’s Monitoring Station on the island of Kauai, within the Hawaiian island chain, broadcast yet another Radiation Alert over the Network, at 8:08 A.M. local time – a 3 minute surge of 209, 456, and 186 CPM (Counts per Minute) respectively, accompanied by a generally elevated level leading up to that, and followed by another blip at 2:52 P.M.

The Military Impacts in Hawai'i should be a Warning to Koreans about the Threat to Jeju Island

It is a grave mistake to claim that military bases have been good for Hawai'i and therefore would be good for Jeju Island.

The U.S. invaded and occupied the sovereign country of Hawai'i in order to build a military outpost. This included the taking of more than 200,000 acres of land for military bases, training and other activities. The result has been the destruction of the environment with more than 900 military contamination sites identified by the Department of Defense. The military’s toxic cocktail includes PCB, perchloroethylene, jet fuel and diesel, mercury, lead, radioactive Cobalt 60, unexploded ordance, perchlorate, and depleted uranium.

When the U.S. took over, especially during WWII, the military seized thousands of acres of Hawaiian land. Whole communities were evicted, their homes, churches and buildings razed or bombed for target practice, their sacred sites destroyed by bombs or imprisoned behind barbed wire.

Ron Paul’s mega crowds… no Media coverage!

Ron Paul’s mega crowds… no Media coverage!

by Jacque Fresco

Did you honestly think the Ron Paul revolution would be televised? Here’s a check on reality as to who is really the #1 presidential nominee for 2012.

Whilst the supposed front runner Romney barely gets over 100 people to a rally, Gingrich and Santorum after talking to empty rooms of 30 people, one man has been pulling in the masses. That man is Ron Paul. Ron Paul is the only one in polls who can and would beat Obama, the NWO puppet.

“Freedom is popular” – Ron Paul

His message of individual liberty and freedom to all is growing a worldwide following.
People are taking heed to the liberty movement as Ron Paul and others expose the criminality of our governments and institutions that have enslaved us for so long.

He has the #1 support from not only the troops who no longer wish to be at war, he also has the support of the youth. The intellectual revolution has begun…

State Surveillance Drone Has Never Left The Ground

The state purchased an unmanned aerial surveillance drone last year to patrol the skies over Honolulu Harbor but the aircraft can’t be flown because of heavy air traffic in the area.

The $75,000 drone was delivered last June – six months after Hawaii Reporter disclosed that the state had not sought and was unlikely to receive federal approval to actually fly the aircraft.

It has been stored since then in a state office on the Honolulu waterfront.

All Three Markets OPEN This Weekend! Yay!

Monday, we received word that the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation issued our Hale’iwa Farmers’ Market an order to vacate, within five days. It seems that the little strip of asphalt that was once the Kamehameha Highway and has been sitting fallow since the opening of the Joseph P Leong Bypass in 1993, is still technically a ‘road, ‘ and thereby fell under Section 264-101 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes: “Vending from highways is prohibited.”

Haleiwa Farmers' Market given 'notice to vacate'

A popular outdoor Sunday event on Oahu's North Shore is in jeopardy after the state issued a notice to vacate to the operators and owners of the Haleiwa Farmers' Market.

The market has been an icon in the community since it started back in 2009. Recently, the issue of where the market operates has drawn some controversy.

The Department of Transportation says the 2.5 acres of land at the intersection of Kamehameha Highway and J.P. Leong Highway is technically a highway right of way, and is zoned for agricultural use, not for doing business.

According to the DOT, that puts the state at risk for possible lawsuits if something should happen at the market.

Images of Hawaii - Early 20th Century - CAPTIONS UPDATED!

After a long delay in the postal system, these photos finally arrived, sent in by a reader. These are photos taken by a US Army soldier stations here in Hawaii at the close of WW1. His name is thought to be Edward Braza (or possibly Edward's father, first name unknown). He appears in many of the photos. From the multiple sizes of negatives and the attempts at hand tinting some photos, it is clear that Mr. Braza was a serious amateur photographer and captured many scenes of Hawaii as it was nearly 100 years ago. I am posting scans of the images here for Hawaii and history fans, and plan to find a suitable institution to donate the original prints to for preservation.

UH scientists revise forecast on tsunami debris

University of Hawaii ocean scientists originally forecast that debris from last year's tsunami in Japan could reach the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands by early 2013. But the possibility now exists for an earlier arrival date - maybe by the end of the year.

"This trajectories of debris, they're not random. Debris is following some preferred and pretty narrow paths of corridors," said Nikolai Maximenko, senior researcher and ocean current expert with the International Pacific Research Center.

[Google Translation]

Pieces of wood, boats and other debris carried by the massive tsunami that followed the earthquake on March 11 last year in Japan are close to the coast of Hawaii in the Pacific, after moving to the surface for more than 4830 kilometers in the North Pacific.

The fragments of the tragedy begin to arrive in the coming weeks to remote islands of the archipelago, as confirmed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA, in English).

The agency estimates that the waste will come first to several small atolls northwest of the main islands of Hawaii.

The problem is that the remains, some of great size, can be a navigational hazard to persons undertaking recreational practices at sea or in economic activities on the

Quake Swarm continues on Big Island.

Webmaster's Commentary:

From the tightly concentrated cluster it looks to me like a new vent is about to open up. Great for tourism, but it is troubling that these quakes are happening near the rift zone on the southern flank of Mauna Kea. Although less well known than Cumbre Vieja volcano in the Canary Islands, Hawaii's Big Island also has a large slab of land that is slowly sliding down towards the sea, opening up large fissures on the surface. Hawaii's geology shows the scars of past episodes where whole sections of the islands have collapsed into the ocean, with Kauai's na pali coastline and the Ko'olau Mountains here on Oahu as two scars where the land literally cracked in two and half vanished under the water. Those events happened before recorded history, but they generated mega-tsunamis that left scars along the entire Pacific rim. Will it happen again? Eventually, yes. Will it happen soon? Hopefully not.

You Secret Service types can relax; this is a very long telephoto I used!

UPDATE: The local news is saying Obama arrived about 10PM last night, so what this plane is I do not know. There are two identical 747s in the Presidential fleet, and maybe they used the second one to bring extra staff and press to APEC. Or maybe it is the "Kneecap" National Emergency Airborne Command Post, also a 747 with a similar paint job on the vertical stabilizer, which would explain the fighter escort that alerted me in the first place. The claim provides one of the only on-the-record, detailed accounts so far of what might have occurred early Saturday morning when a confrontation between four men, including Elderts and Christopher W. Deedy, ended with Elderts being fatally shot in the chest.

Deedy, 27, an off-duty special agent with the U.S. State Department's Bureau of Diplomatic Security, was arrested shortly after the 2:44 a.m. shooting. He was charged Sunday night with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. His bail was set at $250,000.

Federal agent arrested in fatal shooting

A U.S. State Department law enforcement agent from the mainland was arrested early Saturday on suspicion of fatally shooting a Windward Oahu man at the Kuhio Avenue McDonald's in Waikiki.

Honolulu police identified the alleged shooter as Christopher W. Deedy, 27, and sources who asked to remain anonymous confirmed that he is a federal agent who was off-duty at the time of the incident. The victim was identified by family and friends as Kailua resident Kollin K. Elderts, 23, a Kalaheo High School graduate.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Witnesses heard THREE gunshots! So what the official story is is that a gun-carrying agents of the State Department Bureau of Diplomatic Security (Secret Service for foreign diplomats) just hauled off and shot an unknown Kailua man three times in front of the Waikiki McDonald's, for no reason anyone cares to talk about.

Is this another case of "shoot first" training gone wild?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looks like the Guerrilla Gardening idea is starting to catch on. I wonder how long it will be before the food corporations have the police tear up these plants.
