But read the final paragraphs of the Reuters article, where the perception is shifted to that of Iran striking US bases and the US having to fire back in "self defence".

That's what is called creative writing. Always end with the mental picture you want to instill.

The UPI published a story ‘Monsanto to Pull GM Operation from Britain’ was removed from the UPI website.

We were able to locate the UPI story on another website (dated February 3, 2012), which says that Monsanto is leaving Britain due to opposition against GMO crops and that it is selling off its crop-breeding centers in France, Germany and the Czech Republic.

The UPI story may have been based on an article published by the Daily Mail in 2003 that states only the GMO wheat growing operations would be closing in the UK, France, Germany and the Czech Republic, citing government research about contamination concerns. Like millions of others, my wife and I have been enjoying the PBS Masterpiece series, "Downton Abbey."

Twitter just announced that it has set up the ability to block content on a country specific basis (e.g., if Germany demanded some content be taken down, Twitter can now just have that content blocked in Germany). I know some people saw this and got upset about "censorship!" but looking at the details, it actually looks like Twitter is doing a smart thing here. You could argue that the proper response would be to stand up to local governments and say, "sorry, we don't block anything" -- and I'd actually have sympathy with that response. But the truth is that if a government is demanding censorship, then Twitter is likely going to have to comply or face complete blocking.

The information in the report comes from interrogations of 4000 arrested Taliban fighters and terrorists. It states that the fighters are often hiding out in areas where NATO soldiers are stationed. As soon as they leave, the Taliban take over, assisted by the Afghan army and police.

Funny thing about the way we were indoctrinated. If you were raised in front of a TV set, as I was, as most of us were, you learned that life is about waiting to be entertained or seeing what you are going to get. Our minds move like sharks you cannot stop, with sharp teeth ready to devour the next shiny thing and the next. Each shiny thing is a false promise that you will find satisfaction, but want is an endless pit....

Apparently using laptop webcams to spy on students isn't an isolated problem. An assistant principal in the Bronx recently not only bragged about doing just that to PBS—he demonstrated it live. Heads up: this gets real creepy.

Dan Ackerman is an administrator at Intermediate School 339, in the Bronx, and he appeared in a Frontline segment two weeks ago to demonstrate how they monitor their students' computer usage. The uncomfortable part of the segment, in which he accesses the webcams of various unknowing middle schoolers, starts at 4:36.

Not only is this clearly a privacy violation on the face of it, Ackerman's attitude gives me the willies:

"A lot of kids are just on it to check their hair, check their make-up: the girls... They don't even realize that we are watching. I always like to mess with them and take a picture."

Also weird: that no one at Frontline thought to raise this as an issue.

No real change can occur in the undeniable reality of the ruthless oppression practiced on all Palestinians by Zionist Israel without US support. So, how do we change the subservient attitudes of 70% compromised American Congress?

the media is not mentioning the straw poll results but they are saying Tennessee Republican Assembly (TRA)(which held the straw poll) is endorsing Santorium. So the TRA is ignoring the straw poll and not even releasing the results and the will of the Republican party members for Ron Paul. Congressman Oscar Callaway lost his Congressional election for opposing US entry into WW 1. Before he left office, he demanded investigation into JP Morgan & Co for purchasing control over America’s leading 25 newspapers in order to propagandize US public opinion in favor of his corporate and banking interests, including profits from US participation in the war. Mr. Callaway alleged he had the evidence to prove Morgan associates were working as editors to select and edit articles, with the press receiving monthly payments for their allegiance to Morgan.

This is but the latest step in more than three years of non-transparent negotiations.
